Vehicle Detail
RELISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING HIGH BIDDER. 1970 Datsun 240Z in largely original condition. Vin No. is HLS30-06212 and the Date of Manufacture is 06/1970. Mileage shows as 37896, but has most likely been over. This Z does run and drive, mostly around a parking lot. It had been stored outside, under a tarp for at least three years before I acquired it. There is some rust in the normal places: quarters, rear of fenders and rockers, but no rust through areas. The floor pans and rails appear solid, albeit with surface corrosion. This car was originally from Portland, OR, then to Seattle and then in Spokane since 1988. The motor starts up and runs by bypassing the normal fuel system and running it off a quart bottle of gas feeding directly to the fuel pump. The gas tank and fuel lines appear to be plugged. The suspension appears original with only replacement shocks. The interior is worn and faded, but useable. The carpet is not original. The steering column surround by the ignition is missing. The dash has several cracks, and I do not know if the gauges all work. The glass is decent and most of the chrome and exterior trim is on the car in average condition. Most of the bushings, seals, mouldings, and anything rubber or plastic would appear to be age cracked and worn. The motor appears to be original to the vehicle and is mated to the 4-speed transmission. The brakes and clutch systems need to be thoroughly flushed and cleaned. The engine bay is largely original including the carburetor system, cooling system and electrical system as well as various hoses, clamps, etc. Not an AC car. The VIN tag in the door jamb picture indicates some dirt - that is not rust. The paint is faded but appears to be original on the car, the engine bay and the jambs. A great starting point for a full on restoration or with a bit of work and some parts and cleaning it could be a driver. Clear Washington title. Delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser, but I will assist in any reasonable manner. This Z does need to be trailered or transported and is not roadworthy at this time.
