1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 4V 4 Speed. Up for auction is a very nice 1965 Mustang Fastback (C-code) with a 289 4V 4 speed. The car has it's original engine which is a 289 8 cylinder 4V engine (block# C5AE-6015-E date code 4K16), Toploader 4 speed (RUG-AW1) and original 8" 2.80 rear axle. The engine runs very strong and appears to be mostly stock. The engine has an Edelbrock aluminum 4V intake and carburetor. It also has a cobra oval air cleaner and valve covers. Both rear quarter panels and rear frame rails have been replaced. The hood, fenders, trunk lid and valances are all very nice and solid. The doors are also solid with only minor bubbling at the front corners. The floor pans are the originals and have only a small repair to the front on each side. The inner fender aprons are also the originals but do have some bubbles on the top flange. The shock towers are solid with a little rust at the bottom. The car has a very nice black standard interior with bucket seats, Shelby gauge pod with tach and oil pressure plus Shelby style rear seat delete . The rear seat area has the spare tire that is mounted on a style steel wheel. I have the complete fold down rear with trap door in excellent shape that is included. The trim panels are all very nice with no speaker holes in them. The headliner has a small quarter size hole and is the only interior piece that needs repair. The chrome trim and window moldings are all in very nice condition. The glass is very nice and the original except the windshield has a crack. The car also runs / drives very well with Shelby rear sway bar, front springs, manual steering and good drum brakes. The style steel wheels are very nice and the tires have very little wear. The car has many new parts including battery, wire harness, bumpers. This C-code fastback is an excellent vehicle that can be driven and enjoyed now. The door tag is still in place and the VIN is stamped on the fender apron. I have a clean title for the car. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or for the additional pictures of the car.
