You are looking at, and hopefully bidding on, a custom built “1940” Ford pickup truck. This truck was specifically built to tow a 5th wheel camper, and did so for about 8000 trouble free miles. The truck is very stable going down the road and has plenty of power. The mileage averaged about 10 MPG while towing a 30 foot camper. (The pictured camper was sold.) The truck and all of the accessories work as they should. The Frame and Chassis is from a 1984 Ford E350 one ton cube van and unaltered except to shorten the rear fame members to accommodate the Truck body. The Cab and Box is a 1987 Ford F150 extended cab. The box was shortened and altered to receive 1940 ford rear fenders. The engine is an International 9 liter from 1985. It was overhauled by the previous owner shortly before I purchased it. The Transmission is a rebuilt Spicer 7 speed Manual with overdrive. The differential is the Dana 70 that Ford used but has 3:54 gears. The flip forward front end (widened) and the rear fenders are fiberglass 1940 Ford. The grill (widened) and headlights are 1939 Ford Deluxe car items. The wheels are by KMC Wheel Co. The tires are LT235-85R16. The rear window is a sliding unit. The paint and body finish is not show quality but certainly is decent driver quality. The truck is a hit at car shows and cruise ins. If you like HTP (Head Tuning Power) this truck HAS IT! This happened several times over the years while pulling the camper: A car would pass, then pull over to the side of the road and watch me go by, then pass again! The reason I am selling? Health issues. Towing accessories include: 18K 5th wheel coupler bolted directly to the frame, Cat III receiver hitch, 7 circuit Trailer to truck connector, Heavy duty 130 amp commercial alternator, Battery Isolator (Allows the camper battery to charge or discharge independent of the truck battery.), Electric trailer brake controller. Also included; jack and lug wrench, Shop manual for the truck and engine, Aluminum crossover storage box by Delta.
