Up for auction is my 1965 VW Crew Cab. I have owned it for nearly 30 years and cant' believe I'm selling it. It's now in Lewiston ,Idaho, but I surfed out of it in So Cal where it spent it's first 30 plus years. I never planned on a total restoration for this DC. I have always thought it cool to show it off as a daily driver, but it's been parked (inside for the most part) for some 15 years and it's time. If you are so inclined to do a total restoration this is going to be the crewcab for you. To start with, the only thing not original is the safari windows (which you would have put in anyway) and the paint (which is about 10 years old), Everythig else is original to this DC. The motor is the original 1500 cc that runs with no probems(as it should; it was rebuilt approximatly 20 years ago and has less than 500 miles on that rebuild), It shifts with no problems, It runs down the road with no problems (still has the original governor). It shows only SOME of the typical rust spots (one on the rear seat floor deck was cut and repaired front passenger will need the same),very little on the gates. The bed is original and solid,(was going to spray a bedliner in...never got around to it). All the doors are strong and swing like they should. The dash has not been cut into, the gates open and close, ect. The interior needs finished. I have the original seat frames to upholster. I have the original bumpers with brackets (have not been re-painted) One piece of glass needs to be replaced (along with all the rubbers). Wireing is all straight but like the rest needs some time to make perfect..... or just drive it, dude!!! If you are the winning bidder, I will assist in transportation all I can, but the cost will be totally on you. If you decide to come drive it before you buy, you can fly into Lewiston and I will pick you up at the airport. If you don't have a GREAT ebay rating, don't bid without contacting me first. I don't want to trade, for anything, period!! I'm not in a hurry and I'm too damn old to get taken, so don't try!
