I am the second owner of this 968 Porsche Cabriolet and having purchased it in May of 2003. The car has been regularly serviced by the local Porsche dealer. An extensive service history is available. In preparation for sale I have had the following service preformed over the last few months: Steering rack & control arms rebuilt Rear axles redone (new U-joints, boots, etc.) New front brake pads & rotors New Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (225/40 ZR 18 Front & 265/35 ZR 18 Rear) Air Conditioning service Timing belt tensioned and general inspection by dealer Timing belt & water pump were replaced about 18 months ago by dealer Koni adjustable shocks & struts were installed by dealer about the same time DLS front & Infinity rear speakers coupled with Dynamat in the doors offer a very nice sound, but the head unit needs replacement. I will leave this to the new owner to decide if they want to upgrade to a double din GPS unit in the console. Original wheels (showing normal wear) are included with purchase. The finish is original and is in generally good condition considering its age and miles. There are chips and stains that come along with an estimated 92,000 miles. There is a buffer burn to the finish on the left front fender. The odometer broke I think about a year ago. This will show in the service history receipts. I have had some interior work done. The dash is fine and all gauges, electrical & instrument lights work. The accident noted in the AutoCheck happened in the Starbucks parking lot while I was inside ordering coffee. A rather embarrassed police officer backed into the left rear quarter panel. A dent removal person popped this out, but he didn’t do a particularly great job & it remains visible. There is minor damage to the front spoiler/pan that happened when a new and improperly designed speed table was constructed while I was out of town. I discovered this contraption when I came home from an international trip at night. A picture of the damage is included. The top is manual. I would not hesitate to drive this to California today. It has been a reliable car and I've enjoyed it for years and expect the next owner to have several more years of fun as well. I run the PCA 968 register and I thought you would be interested to know that your 968 is 1 of 5 968 cabs painted in code 58 Tahoe Blue. This was a 1992 only special metallic color and cost $1500 extra. Of the 5, your car is the only one paired with the light grey/black interior. I know that no paint work has been done sense I've owned the car and that there was no accident history prior to my purchasing the car. I believe this to be original paint, but I can not promise that some paint work was done to the car before my purchase.
