Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1970 Triumph TR-6 with a 4 speed tranny (sorry no O.D. available for this year-can add if you want). This is a great little car in pretty good shape for being 43 years old. This car is all original-no modifications, etc. that I can tell of. Engine and transmission run great with no issues; starts and runs smoothly. One thing nice about these cars (originally didn't know) is it has a manual choke which is nice. Body, frame, etc. has no heavy-duty rust or rot. I pulled the carpet up under floor pans and rear storage compartment; looked under it while on the trailer and everything underneath looks to be very solid, so appears this car has been stored inside most of it's life. Paint is decent-could use a repaint in my opinion as there is some "bubbling" in a couple of areas, but nothing serious that looks like a "see-thru" rust bucket, only a couple minor bubbles. The "bubbles" are on the top, flat parts of the body with nothing appearing around the usual places like the rockers, doors, lower fenders, etc. from what I can tell. The car appears to have been originally white and had a repaint making it red at some point. Interior is good and am guessing it was replaced at some point. Top also in nice shape, but does have one small 2" tear in it. The car somes with a tonnau cover and a couple of extra parts that came with it when I got it. I took this car in trade with the intention of keeping it for myself, however the years have not been great to me as I'm too tall and grew to fat for it to be comfortable to drive for any distance (and I like to drive my stuff-no trailer queens for me).The car will be sold as-is with no warrantees or guarantees. Again, keep in mind this car was made in 1970, so it is far from perfect, but it will make a great driver the way it is or to restore. I want to reiterate that all the "rust" areas are surface rust only. All metal is in solid condition - very minor. This is a great little car to tool around in on weekends or whatever you want for yourself or your kids. I use to have a spitfire when I was younger and loved it, so I figured the extra room in the TR-6 would fit me better-guess not, and I wanted a 6 cylinder car. Anyway will sell this and try out a stag to see if more room for me to fit in. I expect a $1,000 deposit upon completion of the auction within 24 hours. I will accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover for the deposit-we can do that either over the phone or you can email your info. If you want to do PayPal, call me first for permission. I expect the balance paid in full within 4 days either in cash, postal money order or cashiers/certified check. If you do cashiers/certified check on YOUR local bank, the check will need to clear prior to moving the car. I'm protecting against fake or fraudulent cashier's checks that seem to me around. I will help in shipping if your going to use a carrier-can meet them at their convenience to load. Cost of shipping and arrangements to be by the buyer. If you want to pick it up in person but need extra time to come get it, I don't have a problem in storing within reason; 1-2 weeks or? Main thing is call me to discuss and I will be very reasonable to help out. The balance of the payment will still need to be made within 4 days though. I rarely sell anything on ebay; mostly bought (and usually keep), so I'm learning as I go along on this listing. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOUR NOT SERIOUS. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN EXCUSES OR WIVE'S TAILS. I WILL GIVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK! On Aug-02-12 at 08:15:08 PDT, seller added the following information: HI AGAIN EVERYONE. GOT A QUESTION ON DRIVEABILITY. JUST WANT TO CLARIFY - THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL. I WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM HOPPING IN IT AND TRAVELING ANYWHERE IN THE STATES WITH IT. IT RUNS THAT GOOD. I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE AND TRANNY WERE REBUILT AT ABOUT 90,000 MILES, BUT DIDN'T WANT TO SAY SINCE I DON'T HAVE ANY RECIEPTS TO PROOVE IT. THAT WOULD MEAN THE ENGINE/TRANNY HAVE AROUND 13K MILES ON IT BASED ON THAT INFO. AGAIN, CALL OR EMAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. FOR THE MONEY, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED; BUT WOULD RECOMMEND A PERSONAL INSPECTION FOR YOUR SATISFACTION. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!On Aug-02-12 at 08:22:58 PDT, seller added the following information: HI AGAIN EVERYONE, FORGOT TO MENTION THE CENTER CONSOLE IS INCLUDED AND IN GOOD SHAPE. IT MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT WHEN THE NEW CARPET WAS INSTALLED. ALSO - THE WOOD GRAIN DASH: WHAT APPEARS AS DARK SPOTS ON THE WOOD GRAIN DASH IS ACTUALLY THE GRAIN ITSELF. THE WOOD IS VERY "GRAINY" WITH LOTS OF "BURL" TYPE FIGURATIONS. THESE ARE NOT BAD SPOTS ON THE DASH.On Aug-05-12 at 14:36:15 PDT, seller added the following information: One more thing on the car. There is some misunderstanding regarding rust/rot. There IS NO real rust or rot anywhere on the car from my inspection. Only some minor surface rust where the paint was scraped or wore away on the trunk, floor pans and around the engine compartment. Only thing to do - if you want; is to scuff down the bare areas and squirt some paint on it. From looking it over, all the body panels and other sheet metal are solid and in good shape that won't need replacement. No pin-holes, thinning metal from rust, etc. This is a solid car.
