this is a 1968 pontiac firebird 400 4 speed. it is the original engine in the car. the original transmission was a turbo 400, and also comes with the car. i will list the car in stages; BODY: the body on the car is very straight, and all panels line up nice. has all the 400 original trim on the car. the floors are super solid. the paint on the car is not indoor show quality, and i have had it to 2 cruise ins and 3 car shows, and does very well, and looks really pretty nice, but not a $10,000.00 paint job. it shows like in the pictures. bumpers in good shape, as is the glass. trunk has surface rust under original mat. i have a spare tire included with tire cover. i took a picture of where the nose meets the hood, and usually these are way off, but this fits nice!!! INTERIOR: the interior is all new and re-done, and nice. all the gauges work, 160 mph speedo, and has the ralley cluster, that also all work. all lights work, horn, and even stereo with retractable antenna. seats are original, but centers have velour on them, which has been really nice on the 105 degree days driving it. the inside is really clean, with deluxe door panels. DRIVETRAIN: this has the original 400 engine in it, and also has the original 68 pontiac turbo 400 that comes with it. would never be able to tell other than original YT code for an original 1968 400 automatic. it has a rebuilt m21 close ratio in it now, as that is what i was told, but believe it to be correct. it shifts and runs very smooth, and about as fast as my 1969 gtx 440 4 speed trac-pac car. has quick ratio power steering, disc brakes, and rear end has new eaton posi, and ultimate-10 cover. the box with the gears says 3:90 on them. the tires are 235x60x15, which are about 1 size to large, as in a very tight turn, they rub on front frame slightly, but look great on the 15 ralley 2 wheels. included is the original turbo 400, and console if wanted. just clean inside and out, with no grease or grime to deal with. ENDING:this is a great firebird, and an original 400 car with matching engine. it starts great, idles smooth, and runs hard. this would be equal to the 68 camaro ss l-34 350 hp car. the l-35 was 325 hp. and this car was rated at 330 from the factory, but same engine as the gto for insurance. this was really about 350 from the factory. not many 400 cars around , and few at shows, about 10 camaros to 1 firebird, and not a base firebird. the only reason i put this up is i have a chance to buy my old jeep wrangler back, and really miss it. THE RESERVE ON THIS WILL BE UNDER $15,000.00. ONCE RESERVE IS MET, BUY IT NOW WILL GO AWAY. I HAVE A CLEAR COLORADO TITLE IN MY NAME, AND INSURED FOR $20,000.00. if it does not sell, i will just keep driving it to shows, as it has had alot of money spent on it already. a real fun car to drive, that everything works on it, and for the money it will have a reserve at, basically the price of a project camaro.
