This is a true Classic Beauty! I purchased her five years ago from a collector that said she was actually in a car museum for the previous twelve years! Once received in the desert Southwest (rust free environment), I had my German mechanic go over her from stem-to-stern, replacing rubber, hoses, belts as well as the gas tank and fuel pump. He has taken care of my girl, without concern for cost, for the entire time I've owned her. Although I have taken good care, about a year ago, while cruising on the highway, her transmission failed... She will drive, but her automatic tranny will not shift out of 2nd gear! Due to my age, and economic conditions, she has gone un-repaired! I have had quotes from $500 for repairs to $1,750 for a rebuilt replacement! Outside of this issue, she has run very well, and there seems to be no other mechanical issues. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate her cosmetics (paint & body), an 8.5 there are a few small (tiny) paint chips, and 2 quarter sized shallow dents! In examination, I am told she's never been in an accident, and both fenders appear original! The faux leather in the drivers seat has recently developed a small 1 1/2 inch split on a cushion seam! The radio was replaced with a cheap cassette system, before I bought her, but I do have, and will include an original MB chrome front radio, as well as an uninstalled right side mirror. The glass is excellent and the wood trim is perfect. The right side heater control has bound and is not functioning. Coming with her, I will include a good car cover, a nylon cockpit sun cover, manual & repair books as well as some misc. pieces of rubber seals, and whatever else pertains to her.
