A veritable fleet of Diesel-powered cars and light trucks will be sold in the US from mid-2006 on, and home-grown Biodiesel, a renewable energy source, will not only reduce emissions dramatically, but will be more affordable than ever! Being the only turbocharged Coupe ever sold in the US by Mercedes Benz, from 1982 to 1985, the legendary 300CD Turbo Diesel is special, very special indeed, simultaneously being thrifty and luxurious, sturdy and fashionable. I have a great example of one of these rare Diesel Coupes for sale at this time. Sensibly priced, this fine motorcar is a very viable and smart alternative to the rolling computers of the New Millennium. Perfectly healthy, it is highly prestigious and still thriftier than a brand new, pint-sized econo-box from Asia. Devoid of mysterious black boxes and electronic systems forced upon new car buyers, it is destined to live forever. Preserve or improve its current condition, and you won't lose a dime, no matter how long you keep it.This Coupe is finished in its second coat of metallic-silver coat of paint, with no sign of rust or major damage. The dark-blue MB Tex interior is in great shape for mileage and age, with little signs of wear. The dashboard cover has the obligatory cracks in top, the interior wood application especially on the console is cracked and had some poor repair attempts in various areas. Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Sunroof, Climate Control, etc. are part of the factory installed equipment. Though the antenna does not work.MB Baroque Style Chrome Plated Wheels with good tires. Color matched rear spoiler on the deck-lid. Tinted glass. Aftermarket stereo with power amplifier in trunk.This car starts, runs, shifts, drives and stops just like it is supposed to. You wouldn't know it has 223,000 miles on it. The last owner had it for 22 years and maintained it accordingly. It is not a museum piece, but a very nice and presentable driver with some minor flaws. Some of the power window switches do not work. AC could be colder.Yes there are some chips and dings, as well as normal wear and tear. Some minor leaks. But the overall condition is certainly impressive for age and mileage.
