They’re not always the cheapest, but there’s a good reason for that. I’m not some guy selling campers out of my driveway at home, with an unknown background. PLEASE, IF YOU PLAN TO BID… READ THE PAGE FIRST ITEM DETAILS This Ford cleaned up pretty well for us. When it was traded, you could tell it has been used for a family. It’s no show-car trailer queen…but overall? It’s pretty nice! It’s an XLT-package truck, so there’s LOTS of power options…and from what I could tell, they all work just like they should. The dash air blows nice and cold, even at idle, and so does the rear air. Oil pressure is good. No leaks. No smoke. No knocks or noises. It runs good, smooth acceleration, the transmission shifts nicely and it doesn’t wander going down the road. There is an ever-so-slight pulsation to the brakes when you get on them, and there’s an ABS light on the dash – but the brakes work great. There are only a couple squeaks and rattles when you go down bumpy roads, but the truck seems nice and tight overall. Outside, it has some scuffs and love-taps here and there but nothing major. All the paint looks original. The worst part about it is some rust starting on each rear fender, just behind the wheel. It’s a common spot on these trucks, and it’s not too bad, but it is there so we want to be sure to point it out. The passenger side running board is also getting weak; looking underneath, the brackets that hold it up appear to be rusted too. The drivers side is fine, though. Three of the doors are starting to get some surface rust on the inside of the bottoms; nothing appears to be showing through when the doors are closed. The doors are minor enough you could wire-brush them and spray them with rust converter and primer/sealer, and you’d be in good shape for a while. But all the doorframes on the main body look great. Unfortunately because of the body rust (minor as it is), and the ABS light, it won’t pass Maryland state inspection…so we’re selling this one as-is, and out of state only. No MD bidders please. Sorry – but the MD inspection process is such an overload of red tape…and with the price we have on this truck…we just don’t want to mess with it. If you live out of state, I put a 60 day temp tag on it (for $20), and you have 2 months to do what you need to do in order to get it through your state’s requirements. Maryland doesn’t give me that option for a MD resident – since I’m a licensed dealer, I *must* inspect any vehicle I sell to a MD resident. My hands are tied here, sorry. And that’s a shame. It’s a nice truck. It also has a brake controller if you want to tow with it. It really does run good. And, take a look at the photos – you can see, it cleaned up nicely. It really is a whole LOT of truck for the money! So, send me an email if you have any questions…but don’t forget to bid.
