It runs and drives great. I recently took this car out of long-term storage because I am liquidating my whole collection of Porsches. It hasn't been used regularly in quite a while but still starts up fine and drives fine. The battery is fairly new with a stamp on it from early 2012. There is nothing being intentionally hidden about this Porsche, as so many people do in ads and auctions, as you'll see very clearly from the hundreds and hundreds of pictures and multiple videos in the auction. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 13 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about the car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I have gone far out of my way by shooting hundreds and hundreds of photos not just of every imaginable angle, but also in multiple lighting conditions, even multiple cameras, and I did videos for you -- by doing this you don't have to rely on a seller's "interpretation" of characteristics of the car, but instead you can draw your own conclusions from what you see. My goal is that if you use everything I provide to you, you get a more thorough demonstration of the car than if you came to see a car in person. I also go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get specific positive feedback comments; I don't take it lightly, and it means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the Porsche without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)!Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and video as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. eBay strongly recommends the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and letting the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. That said, I still gave you my impression of the Porsche's characteristics above as a secondary analysis. I have been registered on eBay nearly 13 years and have 100% positive feedback. If your impression of a picture/video differs from what I've written or said, then your own opinion should govern your conclusion. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, which eBay indicates is always the preferred method of communication. I will usually answer within 24 hours. I wish the new owner of this beautiful 35+ year old Porsche unlimited and unending happiness with his or her new acquisition, and hope it goes to someone who appreciates it all.AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person to be transacted at a bank during banking hours or bank wire transfer only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) If you insist on using a check, the check may only be drawn from a bank with a South Florida branch and it will be made out to your name where you will then convert it into cash in front of me or my representative before paying. If you don't do this you'll have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the check to fully clear and you will incur unavoidable storage charges. If you pay by cash, I will meet you in a local branch to accept the cash and it will be deposited immediately and obviously the bank teller will check each currency note for legitimacy. I will not deviate from these rules. Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $350/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). If you want to avoid these storage fees but can't pick up the car for months, I can set you up with a public storage unit under your name, put the car in there and FedEx you the keys, title, etc., as long as you have paid in advance. You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Any inspections must occur prior to the auction end. I do not offer a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of personal philosophy -- this Porsche is As Is with absolutely no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. No testing of this car or its mechanical/electrical aspects of have been done and there is no implication that something works on it that hasn't been specifically demonstrated to be working in a video or text; you should not assume something works or is present that would have worked or was present when this 35 year old car was last regularly on the road. You get the Porsche as pictured, captured in the videos, and described, a clean a clear title, at least 1 key, and if their inclusion is indicated in the description or pictures: records, books, documentation, brochures, etc.The following photo slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of about 1,300 available pictures in this album. To view the remainder of the photographs, and to be able to zoom in, etc., right-click near the bottom of slideshow window where it says "View all" and select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab. You really get the best of several worlds with this car -- you get American muscle in the drive train which is inexpensive to maintain yet more powerful than its counterpart 911 engines, yet the amazing and timeless styling of a 911. It looks aggressive and unique to impress someone, yet is elegant and modern enough to take to a trendy, hip or fine restaurant. On the road or on the track, this car will perform amazingly well, whatever is your pleasure or taste for sport driving -- you also get the amazing weight distribution of a 911, or more accurately in this case the weight distribution of a 911 930 Turbo. Please join me for a walk around movie of the car immediately below this text, which gives a in-person feel for the car which you can't obtain from still photos and text alone: The walk around demonstration continues here... extOn Jul-21-12 at 14:14:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's a cold start after the car hadn't been started in 4 days. The squeaking you hear in the video is the serpentine belt, which is nothing. The camera amplifies that squeaking that sounds like a mouse, but it's not apparent when the engine is running in person, in real life. You mostly hear the nice rumble of the engine... On Jul-21-12 at 14:35:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's a video of some cold-engine garage maneuvering and then a small amount of moderate acceleration: On Jul-21-12 at 15:44:16 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movie shows some normal city driving, shifting, cornering, etc. On Jul-22-12 at 11:44:47 PDT, seller added the following information: The following video shows a small amount of faster acceleration and highway-speed driving. By the way, I wanted to mention a few salient facts about a V8-converted Porsche 911 such as this one you are considering. The upgrades and performance modifications options with low and moderate price points are practically endless, from turbo chargers to super chargers to incredibly cold air conditioning systems, 24-volt power charging, MSD ignition boxes, cam shafts, etc. The durability, ease of working on or price of have work done on American V8 engines is unmatched. Consider that cars doing N A S C A R 500 oval-lap track circuits like Daytona at an average 175 miles per hour are using similar engines with upgraded cams, and a dry-sump oil lubrication distribution system with a reservoir behind the driver, etc. All of these things can be done to this car, or it can be left as it is. Imagine bringing this car to a race track where someone has just blown up their 30 year old stock Porsche engine which happens every day at tracks around the world, and they are looking at a $15,000 rebuild to get it back to the same engine that they just destroyed which will then have the same propensity to self-destruct after the rebuild meanwhile with less horsepower and torque than your V8 911. Unless they are purists which of course is of limited value on a racetrack where winning, losing and the clock are the most obvious common denominators, they would want to buy this performance machine from you in a split second. Additionally, it is my desire that no one misunderstands me with respect to legacy Porsche opposed-6 engines. They are amazing engines. I own many of them and will own many more. Purity is also admirable and seeking its preservation is laudable, and I'm an adherent of this philosophy in many scenarios. Porsche engines have their role, as do American V8 engines. Most engineers would agree that every application has its appropriate tool, and genuine car enthusiasts would agree that you should get what makes you happiest without undo respect to others' opinions while nonetheless still considering their opinions. Without further ado, here's a small sample of faster acceleration and a modicum of faster speed just to give you a taste: On Jul-22-12 at 17:08:53 PDT, seller added the following information: The wide body flares on this car are METAL, as many people have written in via eBay messaging to ask whether they are metal or less desirable fiberglass. Again, this is a metal version. The following 15-second video is a spontaneous capture of the engine revving sound by sticking the camera outside the car while sitting in the driver's seat, just to give you an idea of the excellent sound the engine generates:
