It is rare to say something is "PERFECT," but these seats were so nicely done I will invoke that word in this case. The seats are perfect. This 1968 Porsche car was intended for the German Market and was Legally Privately Imported Into the United States in 1982Includes Provenance (Historical Car Legacy Documented History), Including Several Letters from Porsche in Stuttgart-ZuffenhausenOne Included Letter from PORSCHE on Porsche Letterhead dated April 23, 1982, written to its new U.S. owner indicates the information known about the car in 1968 when it left the Porsche factoryThere is a German ownership booklet included called Kraftfahrzeugbrief, which is the Vehicle Registration Document. It shows the car was registered in various cities in Germany until it was brought legally to the U.S. in 1982Clean and Clear Florida Title in-handThe Title Can Also Be FedEx'd, Faxed, anywhere, if it helps you Includes ownership/maintenance recordsBeautiful seats/interiorPorsche tool kit, jack, spareMultiple videos below and about 500 photographsIf you contact me before the auction ends about transport, I may offer to contribute to your transport costs as a sign and token of good faith and well wishes...I want the car to go to someone who will appreciate it even if it's going far awayGauges are in Metric for the European Market. 294,123 kilometers on the odometer is about 182,000 miles. This car needs nothing to be put into use as a daily driver immediately or to use as a show carPower windows work, Radio Works Nicely, Completely Reliable and Start Instantly Every TimeComes with 3-Ring Binder with Documentation, Records, and 3 KeysIncludes 3 License Plates as shown mounted on the car: Front European Plate, Rear European Plate and Rear U.S./Florida "Antique" plate. You are bidding on a 1968 Porsche 911T Targa with a Manual Transmission, originally intended for the German Market, i.e., not a U.S. version car, with upgraded 911SC body panels and interior. This car was privately imported into the U.S. in a legal fashion in 1982, which makes it known as a "grey market car" which is rare and highly desirable. This car was recently taken out of long-term storage to liquidate my collection of Porsches. The car is in excellent shape in and out and doesn't need anything. It starts immediately as you'll see in the videos. I intentionally didn't start it for 3 weeks before rolling it into the right position in the garage to do photographs for you because I wanted you to see a totally cold start after not having been started in several weeks. I do that cold start in a video for you below. There is nothing being intentionally hidden about this Porsche, as so many people do in ads and auctions, as you'll see very clearly from the hundreds and hundreds of pictures and multiple videos in the auction. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 13 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about the car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I have gone far out of my way by shooting hundreds and hundreds of photos not just of every imaginable angle, but also in multiple lighting conditions, even multiple cameras, and I did videos for you -- by doing this you don't have to rely on a seller's "interpretation" of characteristics of the car, but instead you can draw your own conclusions from what you see. My goal is that if you use everything I provide to you, you get a more thorough demonstration of the car than if you came to see a car in person. I also go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get specific positive feedback comments; I don't take it lightly, and it means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the Porsche without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and video as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. eBay strongly recommends the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and letting the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. That said, I still gave you my impression of the Porsche's characteristics above as a secondary analysis. I have been registered on eBay nearly 13 years and have 100% positive feedback. If your impression of a picture/video differs from what I've written or said, then your own opinion should govern your conclusion. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, which eBay indicates is always the preferred method of communication. I will usually answer within 24 hours. I wish the new owner of this beautiful 44+ year old Porsche unlimited and unending happiness with his or her new acquisition, and hope it goes to someone who appreciates it all. AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person to be transacted at a bank during banking hours or bank wire transfer only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) If you insist on using a check, the check may only be drawn from a bank with a South Florida branch and it will be made out to your name where you will then convert it into cash in front of me or my representative before paying. If you don't do this you'll have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the check to fully clear and you will incur unavoidable storage charges. If you pay by cash, I will meet you in a local branch to accept the cash and it will be deposited immediately and obviously the bank teller will check each currency note for legitimacy. I will not deviate from these rules. Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. The battery is not included. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $350/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). If you want to avoid these storage fees but can't pick up the car for months, I can set you up with a public storage unit under your name, put the car in there and FedEx you the keys, title, etc., as long as you have paid in advance. You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Any inspections must occur prior to the auction end. I do not offer a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of personal philosophy -- this Porsche is As Is with absolutely no warranty of any kind expressed or implied. You get the Porsche as pictured, captured in the videos, and described, a clean a clear title, a Bill of Sale, at least 3 keys, and records, books, documentation, etc.The following photo slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of about 500 available pictures in this album. To view the remainder of the photographs, and to be able to zoom in, etc., right-click near the bottom of slideshow window where it says "View all" and select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab. You will note that as sometimes happens in Florida it unexpectedly started to rain right after it had just been sunny out. I don't take this car out in the rain and I am disappointed to have got caught in the rain while out with the car to do videos and photos for you. You'll note on the outside pictures (meaning pictures not done in the garage), there are raindrops on the car -- even though I am not happy it rained on the car, I am glad to report the Targa top didn't leak at all. The following movies demonstrate a walk around of this 1968 Porsche 911 along with accessory operation, engine cold start, and road demonstration. This allows you to gain an in-person impression of the car with a different perspective than photographs alone. They show many different aspects, including door open/close, hood/boot/bonnet cover operation... In the first video in particular, you have a walk around, and around the 4 minute mark, you'll see an especially exciting moment...it's the cold start after the car hadn't been started in 3 weeks and the engine just runs so nicely. In a later video, you'll see the car idling and revving up (and close-up of the engine doing so) when it's been warmed up; one would say the engine hums along beautifully. On Jul-20-12 at 11:37:47 PDT, seller added the following information: This auction includes a few bonus items: A Drake Workshop and Repair Manual for Porsche 911, years 1968-1972A French-language Porsche 911 Targa Information Card covering years 1966-1983A 1966 Autocar magazineOn Jul-21-12 at 15:49:50 PDT, seller added the following information: The following is a Road Demonstration of the 911. As I wrote previously, it started to rain unexpectedly when I was driving which is a big disappointment for me since I wouldn't normally take this car out in wet weather because it's too nice. Anyway, it's still a nice presentation so go ahead and watch it... On Jul-22-12 at 09:47:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Finally I am glad to present to you the following video, which is just about 1-minute long. After the shooting the road demonstration video, I shot this movie of the engine close-up idling and revving when warm. This engine just purrs so nicely and the car runs and drives so well and looks and feels so good inside and outside. I am really sad to see it sell...
