For Sale via eBay Auction: 2000 Toyota MR2 Convertible, 5 speed manual, very good condition (NOT mint), owned by my wife for the past 10 plus years, driven daily by her, and all routine maintenance has been performed at a local Firestone Auto franchise. This is a great car, and fun to drive; especially with the top down in the summer. The car is being sold only because she is taking delivery on a brand new 2012 automobile; and this vehicle is being sold AS IS with NO WARRANTY; neither expressed nor implied. To prepare the car for the new owner, the following work has recently been performed at a professional car repair shop: four new ignition coils (coil packs; check engine light was flashing); and two new rear tires. The actual mileage on the car is currently 165,837 miles; which may increase slightly because it is still being driven daily until the new car arrives. The car runs and rides very well, the engine does NOT overheat or smoke, nor does it burn or leak any oil (I add some oil in between changes as required to keep the crankcase level up). It shifts smoothly and the clutch works fine (no noise or chatter anywhere in the drivetrain). As most people know, properly maintained Toyotas typically deliver well over 200,000 miles. This car has been essentially trouble free while we have owned it. The car is currently registered and insured so it can be driven when it is picked up. On the other side of the coin, the shop that performed the recent ignition coil replacement did an "overall inspection", and indicated that the car may need "some" (presumably routine) brake and/or suspension work at some time in the near future. In addition, it appears that the rear window defroster is not getting electrical power because one of the wires leading to it is detached. Finally, the car was involved in a minor accident when my wife grazed a deer who stepped into the path of her car one night at a modest speed. The hood and right headlamp assembly were replaced by a professional body shop, and this aspect of the car has been restored properly. The car is located in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, and can be seen and picked up in Laurel, MD (midway between Baltimore and Washington DC), or in the northern suburbs of Baltimore (near Bel Air, MD), whichever is closer or more convenient for you. The minimum auction price of $2700 is $200 below the low end of the retail range (average of NADA and KBB) for this model in very good condition with the indicated mileage; and if you look around you will see that there are very few cars like this MR2 Spyder for sale, especially at this very reasonable price range.
