Vehicle Detail
1974 Plymouth Road Runner- This year was the LAST of the REAL Road Runners. Only 9,646 were produced so this was a somewhat rare car when it was built. Just TRY to find one now in even rustbucket condition without paying a fortune for it! This isn't a Canada-built car, either. This particular car was built right here in the USA in St. Louis MO. Has a NEW Cope Street/Strip Racing Transmission, NEW Year One wiring Harness. NEW battery, NEW front brakes. ENGINE: Ground-shaking 400 Magnum with headers, Carter Competition Series carb. ORIGINAL twin snorkel air cleaner. CRANKS AND RUNS! This was my daily driver for about 5 years. It is still drivable but recommend trailering. Body is solid with very few, very small surface rust spots. Floor pans and trunk is solid with no rust. The windshield and back window has been resealed so it's watertight. Doors sag a little, but shuts solid. Bumpers need to be re-chromed or painted. This is a good, solid car that just needs some basic TLC to become a real head-turning MONSTER. I've done most of the heavy work- invested about $6,000 but due to work schedule just don't have the time to devote to it any more. You will notice the large blemish on the header panel. This was a rusted area that was poorly fixed with about 2 lbs of bondo. It's an easy fix by even a novice body man, but I have included a new header panel to replace it. Also included is the original front lower valance. I've posted additional info and several additional photos including interior shots at: http://grimbird.tripod.com/This was originally a 318 engine car. It was replaced with the 400 Magnum by a previous owner so I don't know much about it. Same with the paint- it isn't original which is why this vehicle does not have the Road Runner stripe kit. The color matches the original paint and it was a decent job but it's evident it was done many years ago. This IS a genuine Road Runner, though. I verified this myself. This is a basic bench seat, column shift machine. Has a 150 MPH speedo.Note: There IS a reserve on this auction, but it is LOW. I will post additional photos and any details that I may think of. If you have any questions at all, please ask.
