Up for auction is a CURRENTLY NON-RUNNING 1995 BMW 318ti. Car is a base model, black with a gray cloth interior and about 135,000 miles. It is in good condition, with minor cosmetic damage to the right front fender (shown) and a generally solid body. It's not running because of a broken ignition switch, a common malady with these cars. The key spins freely in the ignition. The previous owner had a switch wired up separately, which has burned out. The fix costs about $800 at the dealership or can be done by a shadetree mechanic of moderate skill (you'll need to pull the steering wheel) for the $250 or so in parts it requires. Other issues: power windows do not work. Needs a right rear brake rotor. Driver's interior door panel is partially removed. Not certain of the condition of the air conditioner or other accessories. Note that as mentioned before, the car is NOT currently running, and will need to be towed. I am willing to provide short-term storage for a deposit. I'm putting it up for sale to see if anyone's interested before I go ahead and fix it myself. These are entertaining little cars, and if I get it running I'll probably want to keep it!
