1928-29 Ford roadster – AV8 hot rod This a classic AV8 roadster built with all of the right parts. It was not "built to sell" but current circumstances (a smashed daily driver) dictate it. The body is original Ford in very good shape. Original doors and hardware with a new decklid skin. The frame is an original A frame and has been stepped in the rear. The majority of the running gear came from a restored 1940 Ford. The engine runs strong, the steering is smooth, and it is a soundly engineered car with little left to figure out. That said it does need some simple work to be turned into a true driver. It needs some finish welding, brake parts and misc linkage, wiring, plumbing and a couple of carb kits, and a fist full of cotter pins to finish off all of the original Ford hardware. A quick list of some details:• Original Ford dropped axle• brand new radiator (Model A chopped with new 4 row core)• F1 steering box• '35 wires with Lyons wheel covers and new '32 caps• Stained birch floors and seat• Custom made steering wheel (aluminum with birch grips)• engine turned column drop• aluminum chin fairing• Spanking new Excelsior rear tires and tubes (750-16)• original Firestone fronts (475-16)• Fenton dual manifold The paint is not perfect by any means but it did polish out well and frankly, looks much cooler than a "perfect" paint job could have. I have done my best to show it as it really is. There is some pinstriping but it is tasteful and fits the car – not coverage for coverage sake.
