Autocheck and Carfax both showed no flood damage (or any other damage or accidents) but do show that the car was registered in a storm area (any car registered in that area at that time shows the same thing). The timing belt tensioner failed and the engine needed to be replaced. I purchased a new engine with 71K miles on it (the lowest mileage engine I could find at the time). I have documentation on the new engine and the VIN of the car that it came out of. The engine was replaced and has approximately 77K on it now. So the car has 117K and the engine has 40K fewer miles. After the engine was replaced there were a number of other issues that needed to be addressed (see the above list) and I put a ton of money into getting everything sorted out. No one can believe that it is a 2000 it is that nice. Absolutely beautiful condition. If you don't have a lead foot you will get @20mpg around town -- so it is not that bad on gas either. I've driven it for over a year -- it's a tank in the snow and the power band is as smooth as silk. I've bought a new project to work on and this one needs to go. A great, safe - good in the snow car for a first driver too. As nice as it is, it does have a few issues that still need to be addressed; - The moonroof does not work nor does the solar panel on it. - Glove box handle is broken (still attached though) - Hood strut doesn't hold open the hood. (I use a small vise-grip to keep it up). - Headliner was replaced prior to me purchasing car. Looks ok but if it were me I would redo it but I tend to be very picky.
