Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a used Ford truck I have for sale. I bought this last fall, and have used it here on my farm. It is one heavy built truck! There is a plate on the door that reads: VIN: 1FDLF47G6VEC74752 Front axle rating: 5000 pounds Rear axle rating: 11,000 pounds The title shows that it is a 1997 model. The sticker on the cab reads that this is a Superduty model. Based on the GVWR, I would say it was a 450 or a 550? The truck had a large sprayer rig mounted on the back when I got it. The truck was set up to use spraying right of ways for electric companies. I removed the spray rig and sold it. It has a nice heavy duty flatbed with a flip up door that has a gooseneck ball installed down on the frame under it. The bed has a tag that reads: Reading Model: H-9-W Serial: 422503 The bed is 9 feet, five inches long, and 8 feet wide. It has stake pockets in it and a nice set of 16 inch tall pipe sides that you can unlatch and then swing out to the side so you can load and unload off the side of the bed. It also has a nice 23 inch tall pipe bulkhead at the front of the bed. The gooseneck ball is bolted to a heavy frame that is attached down to the truck frame. It is really well built and not just attached to the bed like some are. I can't tell for sure, but just now when I was looking at the hitch under the door, while taking these museum quality photos, I noticed that there is a light plug-in place under the door. The bed is in very good condition. There is a two feet wide Reading brand "backpack" tool box installed right behind the cab. It is in good condition and gives you a lot of storage. It has doors on both the passenger and drivers side. The top half goes all the way through to the other side, the bottom doors open to a toolbox that goes back to the truck frame - not all the way across. There is a nice three feet long tool box installed on the drivers side under the bed and on the passenger side there is a similar sized hydraulic tank. The hydraulic tank supplies oil to the PTO mounted hydraulic pump. The pump is used to run the hydraulic winch on the front bumper. It is a Ramsey winch and it is a model X600. It has a 12,000 pound capacity and works great. There are two control levers in the cab, one turns the pto on and off and the other is a joystick to control the winch - spool in, neutral, and spool out. There is also a handle on the outside of the cab that allows you to put the winch gearbox into neutral so you can freespool out the cable. That way one man can pull out the cable without having to have someone in the cab spooling it out. It all is in good condition. I originally planned to install a hydraulic hoist under the bed since you already have plenty of hydraulic flow, but I haven't had the time. It would be simple to do and this would make a great little dump truck with the heavy axles it has. The truck has a pintle hitch on the back and it has a trailer light plug and brake controller in the cab. The truck has 16 inch tires and they are all in good condition - I have never had to add any air to them in the last 6 months since I have owned the truck. They do not all match, but they all have 50% or better tread. The engine is a 7.4 liter which I think is a 460? It is a V-8 gas and has lots of power. The truck has a new idler pulley, a new spring tension pulley and a new flat belt. The engine runs great. The transmission is a five speed manual - it shifts and works good. The truck is four wheel drive and it has lockout hubs and a manual lever in the cab to put it in and out of gear. It works great. When I first got the truck, it was very hard to take the four wheel drive in and out of gear. I took it to the Ford dealer and they rebuilt the transfer case and that fixed it. I have used the four wheel drive and it works, this truck really pulls good and handles well off road. While it was at the Ford dealer, I had them fix a bunch of odds and ends it needed. They installed a new door handle, replaced the guide channels so the drivers door glass would roll up easier, rebuilt the transfer case, replaced the rear shocks, and replaced the front springs. The truck had sagged to one side some when I got it, and one of the springs on the passenger side was broken. So the Ford dealer found a set off a wrecked truck with low miles and they replaced mine with them. That really made it sit better. They also installed a new horn button so it would pass inspection. It is on the dash, the horn button in the steering column does not work. The inside of the cab is nothing fancy - it was plain when new, and the years have not improved it any! The seat has worn places in it that should be recovered - see photo. The truck does not have A/C or a radio or any thing else fancy - no cruise, no power windows, no GPS - you get the idea. It is just a very plain and simple work truck. All the gauges work except the speedometer and the odometer. They worked when I got it, and it reads 54,451 miles, but I drove over a brush pile one time and I think I broke a cable or something - it has never worked since. DO NOT BUY THIS AS A HOT DATE VEHICLE! This truck needs a good bath, it was plain even when new, it is nothing fancy to go out on the town in! But it really has been a good work truck, I have records for the work we did, and it has never let us down. You are welcome to come drive it before the auction ends. I would not be afraid to drive it to get it home. I drove it on a six hour round trip to haul some machinery and it did fine. I recently bought a smilar size truck but with a fourteen foot bed - that is the only reason I am selling it. Email or call me with any questions - (573)219-6611. Ebay will not let us post email links any more, but it is simply my user name like this: olivetroad at gmail dot com. Or ask me a question through ebay. Thanks for looking! Local pick up I am a cattle farmer here in Mid-Missouri, so I am flexible about when you want to come and get items you have purchased from me, but I try and keep a schedule for my families benefit. I ask that you come between 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 at night. I am not available on Sundays whatsoever - that is God and family day, so don't ask! Just because I am a farmer does not mean that I am here everyday, I travel around to auctions and surplus sales and am gone several times a week. So don't do like some folks have in the past and drive 800 miles to get here and find out I am gone. You must contact me before you just show up! My granny always said that showing up unannounced was rude - you have to give people notice so they can get presentable. Hauling or Driving I have a local trucking company that I highly recommend that you call if you need a quote on having larger items like machinery and large trucks hauled to you. They are DAB Transport and their phone number is: (816)230-4135. They are located in Odessa, Missouri, and are just all around good folks to deal with. They are equipped to deal with about anything you need hauled, including tall bucket trucks and heavy machinery. I am located 100 miles West of the St. Louis airport, 10 miles off Interstate 70 at the Kingdom City exit #148 in Fulton, Mo, 65251. If you buy a vehicle from me and want to drive it home, there is a nice shuttle service that runs between the Kansas City (KCI) airport and the St. Louis (STL) airport. It is called: MO-X. They make a stop at my exit on I-70 at a McDonalds restaurant to pick up and drop off passengers. I can meet you in Kingdom City with your vehicle purchase so you can drive it home. There is also a local license bureau where you can buy a one way trip permit temporary tag if you want one. Payment I require payment in full within one week of auctions end. Once it is paid for, there is no hurry for you to pick it up - take six months if need be! If you don't come get it after six months have passed since the end of the auction, it will be resold, and my wife gets the proceeds. If you have a legitimate reason why you need to wait longer than six months to pick up your purchase, contact me and we will work something out. Contact me If you have any questions about this item, or about delivery or shipping, you can call me or email me. Don't be shy! The only stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask. I prefer email as it lets me answer questions at night when I am not busy and it gives me time to find the right answer to your questions. I also run tractors and skid loaders here on the farm and a lot of times I do not hear my phone. I also live in a rural area and in a lot of places I do not get phone service. One of the places I do not get good coverage is in my shop! So if you can't get me on the phone, try back later or better yet, send me an email and I will get back with you. You can send me an email through ebay or you can call me - my cell phone number is: (573)219-6611 Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! On Jun-21-12 at 01:17:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to include in the listing that the passenger side quarter panel is dented in and so is the leading edge of the passenger door. The door opens and closes fine though. I think you can see it in the photos, but if you need a better photo, email me and I will send you one. The rest of the body is very straight for its age. The bed and toolboxes are not torn up at all. It would be a simple truck to have repainted. White would look a lot better for the cab than that ugly orange, but my cows never minded it! Thanks for the interest!
