Up for auction I have a rare 1970 AMC AMX 2 seater sports car showing 49,490 miles on odometer (believed to be original but cannot verify), car #19900. Car runs and drives exceptionally strong and clean. AMX production in 1970 only totaled 4,116 units. This muscle car is mostly original, with an exterior restoration done in the late 80's to early 90's. Car is very shiny and straight with it's share of little nicks, scratches, a few very small bubbles at the very bottom and at seams above decklid. The door jams, inside trunk lid and jams, and underhood and engine bay still have the factory paint and still very presentable. The interior, seats, dash, carpet, headliner, all woodgrain, arm rests, door panels, appear to be factory installed ones and "still" look very good!! The upper plastic dash has some cracks from age but not terrible. Rear view mirror has some cloudiness around edges. All lights work including the backup lamp. Back glass has some scratches, side glass pretty nice, windshield is perfect (probably replaced at some time). All the chrome is nice. Floors, frame, underside was rustproofed from the factory and still retain its originality. Inside the luggage compartment: the original space saver spare and bottle, twingrip and jacking instructions. These 2 seat wonders are rare to find in any condition, let alone one such as this well cared for and pampered sports car in its mostly original condition. Drive everyday, or just show on weekend, or a museum setting. Any setting or use you will be proud to be its new owner.
