Vehicle Detail

1970 KARMANN GHIA Car is located in Bakersfield, CA, approx 2 hours north of Los Angeles. This is a "No Reserve Price" auction.......the highest bidder gets it! You are bidding on a 1970 VW Karmann Ghia project car, being sold at NO RESERVE PRICE! This is a mostly rust free, California desert area car with a decent looking body and pan. Has nice appearing nose, fenders, inner wheel wells, rockers, etc. Not much is known about this Ghia's life history, except that it was given to county singer Buck 0wens by one of his former neighbors. The car was brought to Mr. 0wen's Bakersfield ranch and titled in his name, where it remained, un-used, until after he died. I have the title (see photos) which matches the VIN number and body ID tag on the car. This Ghia is currently registered in "non-op" status with the D.M.V. There are NO un-paid fees or penalties which are due at this time. PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER THE FAMILY OR BUSINESS OF THE FORMER OWNER! No other information or photos are available! I got the car earlier this year and towed it home, but I've lost interest in trying to fix it and want to sell it. Car has been parked for many years and is missing the engine and other parts. (See list below) Car is located in Bakersfield, CA. approx 2 hours north of Los Angeles. The following parts are INCLUDED: Body, Pan, Title, All windows except windshield and one roll up glass, Aluminum channels for door/roof seals, IRS transmission (still installed) with axles, 12 volt starter, Disc brake front axle, Door handles, Damaged drivers door with hinges (not installed) Steering column, Pedal assembly, Glove box door, Misc switches, wiper motor, etc. The following parts are MISSING: Engine, Bumpers & brackets, Seats, Interior upholstery, headliner, carpet etc, Battery, Keys, Padded dash, Windshield, Radio, etc. The paint is sun faded from years of sitting outdoors and has scratches, chips, areas of cracking, peeling, etc. There is one small dent near the front headlight and another on the drivers side rear 1/4 panel. The only "bad" rust areas I could see on the body are some rust bubbles on the left rear quarter panel and a rusted area below the tailight area where wet leaves sat inside. The steering collumn is loose and the drivers door is badly dented from being swung open too wide and will probably need replacing. This is a project car in NON-RUNNING, non-drivable, incomplete condition. It is being sold "as-is-where-is" and will need to be towed or trailered. There is NO warranty or guarantee, and the condition of all parts is unknown. I have never driven it. Please bid accordingly! I would strongly urge all bidders to see it in person prior to bidding! Please contact me for more information or photos. PAYMENT: A $200 deposit is requested within 48 hours of auction's end. Full payment due within 7 days of auction's end, unless other arrangements are made beforehand. I accept cash in person, or direct - bank to bank wire transfer. Thank you for paying promptly! USA SHIPPING/INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I am not a car dealer or shipper! I bought this Ghia as a project, but have lost interest in it. If you need this car shipped, YOU must make any pre-paid shipping arrangements and have the vehicle picked up here AFTER it is paid in full. Vehicle may remain here for no more than 30 days after auction ends.
