Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1986 Mercedes Benz 300E. I am the third owner of this beautiful car. The second owner is a therapist friend of mine and he owned the car from 1987 (the original owner was retired doctor that died shortly after buying it new) until he bought a newer Mercedes in late 2011. To say he took meticulate car of this car would be an understatement. I used to joke that you could eat off of any surface of this car because he kept it that clean and preserved. Until my 11 year old daughter rode in the backseat this car had never seen children nor, for that matter, many passengers other than the second owner and his wife. The car was serviced by the same Mercedes Tech always at the local dealership. In 2003, the previous owner found it unacceptable that the car was using 1/2 -1 quart of oil in between oil changes so he had the Mercedes dealer install a brand new engine. This was done 1-10-03 when the car had 55k miles on it. The car now has around 93k putting the miles on the new engine around 38k. Since the new engine, only Mobil-One oil and filters have been used. I bought the car with 80k and have used it as my daily driver the last year or so, and can vouch for it's incredible reliability. As you can see from the pictures, the grill and headlights were changed (European lights with high intensity bulbs) as were the outside mirrors. I have all the original parts. The radio was replaced about 5 years ago with a Mercedes Radio/CD player. I also have the original radio. The summer tires sit on AMG rims. The original rims have a set of snow tires on them. Floor mats (carpet and rubber) were new two years ago. Interior wood trim added years ago and it looks very nice. The car is extremely nice, but obviously since it is 26 years old it is not perfect. There are a few scratches and a ding or two here and there. The only rust I noticed while washing it last week is a small bubble on the underside of the wheel well on the driver's side front. That's about it. The paint shines like new. The interior is nearly flawless, outside of a small crack in the wood trim near the power window switches on the center console. All in all you would be hard pressed to find a car of this age in this nice of shape... buy it as a collector or as your daily driver...either way you would not be disappointed. The previous owner mentioned the AC (converted to R-134) would need recharging from time to time, however I drove it last summer and so far into this summer the AC has worked quite well and cold. All the power options work (sunroof, windows, seats, cruise, etc). The only other minor issues that I can think of is the security system is a bit fussy and the alarm will go off at times if you unlock the drivers door and open it. I've always unlocked the car from either the passenger side or the trunk with no problems. Also the previous owner told me the ebrake is inop. I wouldn't have a need to use it anyways so I didn't worry about it. I have all the original books that came with the car as well as all the keys. I would not be selling but we have a baby on the way and I want to get something a bit larger. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for looking and bidding. Good luck! As a licensed Wisconsin dealer, I am required to process the title transfer and collect the applicable sales tax. Out of state buyers will get the clear title along with a bill of sale. Vehicle is sold as-is.On Jun-11-12 at 16:07:30 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE** When I relisted my car I forgot to edit the headline where it says "no reserve" - sorry for the confusion. There obviously is a reserve now but I can't seem to edit the tag line and remove the "no reserve" portion.
