I am the third owner of this extremely clean 1986 944 Turbo. I bought the car in early 2004 with 21,411 miles. The second owner was a specialty car dealer in North Carolina that bought it from the original owner in 2003 (17,000 miles) and had briefly used it as his personal car. This car has never been driven in the winter and has always been stored indoors. The paint is all original and it is gorgeous! There are some stone chips in the paint that I did not attempt to fix as I did not want to mess up the original finish. The leather seats are in perfect condition and are still soft and pliable. The interior is in excellent condition with no dings or cracks on the dashboard. The floor mats are premium, cocoa fiber woven mats in a black and red color. Under the hood, the engine compartment is clean and always gets compliments from my mechanic (Autobaun Service in Copley, OH, German car specialists). In 2003 with only 17,000 miles on it, the car received a major overhaul including: 1) Refinished Fuchs wheels2) Added Authothority Engine management chips3) Upgraded air filter to K&N high flow permanent filter4) Replaced tires with Potenza SO-E Pole Position tires5) Replaced rear shocks (Bilstein)6) Upgraded A/C to non-freon coolant7) Replaced hood shocks and under hood pads8) Replaced timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and coolant hoses9) All other rubber belts replaced10) Replaced front & rear sway bars Since 2004, I have changed oil yearly (full synthetic) and brake fluid every 2 - 3 years. The gear oil, coolant, and transmission fluid were changed as recommended. The stereo has been upgraded: 6 speakers (Yamaha main), 2 power amps, Alpine head unit with CD and direct Ipod link cable Many extras including front end bra, mirror bras, leather case for removable sunroof, cloth dust cover for winter storage, original tool kit, Porsche plug-in tire air compressor, and an original dealer brochure.
