Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1984 Mercedes 300sd. This is a W126 sedan with a great 5 cylinder diesel engine. I bought this car to save me gas driving back and forth to law school. I've graduated and now it's time for me to sell it. I bought it for the gas mileage. You may want to restore it. You may want to run biodiesel or make a "grease car." She's ready for you to open up that imagination and have fun. The engine runs like a sewing machine. I'm the 2nd owner. The cd player and remote work gretat. I have several parts that I will give to the new owner. I got ready to make some upgrades but decided to let someone with more time have all the fun. I've replaced the alternator and bracket/adjuster, radiator, just about every hose and clamp, battery and cables, lower oil cooler hose, window regulator in lr door and motor in driver door, vaccuum lines and valves, arm rest, brake pads/rotors, etc, etc. I have the following parts that will come with the car: A/C compressor, with dryer, expansion valve, & special "r12" style regrigerant & oil. (I've done the system once with R134 and you are better off using this set up supplied since its like the stock system), upper oil cooler line, front shocks, engine shocks, engine mounts, and any other parts i find that i've bought that go with this car. Being an attorney doesn't leave me time to play mechanic. You will need a trailer. The one real issue is the transmission. It started flaring a little between shifts and I think that there either is some garbage in the valve body or a broken spring. It could be something more serious, i honestly don't know. Either a replacement tranny or a rebuild will turn this into a road warrior again. In any case, we can get it on a trailer, but it will not drive home. The odometer was busted when I bought it. it showed about 300K on the dial. I replaced the odometer, and while the speedo works right, the new odometer acts funny and clocks about 1.2 miles for every mile. I don't think you will care, but if you do, probably the real fix is to find another gauge that is geared for that specific car. Body and interior look like a car that was well worn and 28 years old. The paint is fading but will shine up fair. there are dents, dings, and it looks like the passenger side rear got hit, but was pulled out. These are getting hard to find. Restored models go for big bucks these days. It's hard to find a land yacht that will get 30+mpg. I have a clean Alabama title, so come and get it!
