* If you live in California and want to bid please read caveat below - Car is CURRENTLY NOT smog legal in California due to Supercharger and engine modifications (headers etc.). CARB (California Air Resource Board) States which require an EO# (executive order #) for after market modifications will fail car at visual inspection. As far as I can tell that leaves 48 states where car can be registered without issue and as is (but do your own research!)....... I live in a county in California that requires bi-annual smog checks and this would just be too big a headache. Many California counties only require a smog check upon sale and initial transfer of registration. I am not suggesting anyone do anything out of compliance with CA state emissions standards, just providing facts. E-mail me with questions 1997 Mustang Triple Black Roush Supercharged Convertible All work and modifications performed by Baucom Motorsports in Charlotte NC, home of famous Trans-Am driver John Baucom, at an additional cost of over $17,000. Only 62,300 original miles, well cared for, never abused. This Pony has been expertly maintained it's whole life. The Good Roush Superharger running 6 lbs of boost and capable of more Roush Body Kit - 1997/98 only two years Roush designed side exhaust body kit. This car gets a lot of attention! Roush Lightbar Roush 18" AlloyWheels Roush Cover Roush Billet Pedals Roush Shift Knob Roush detailing Brembo Front Disc Brakes Pillar mounted boost and water temp gauges Michelin Tires Tokico Performance Suspension BBK/Edelborck intake, 75mm thottle body BBK Headers 9MM Ford Racing wires Calibrated Mass Air Flow Meter/35lb injectors Additional Structual Frame Supports (yeah it's a convertible but this car handles/corners with no preceptible flex whatsoever. Way better than either my 1999 34th Anniversary Coupe or my 2004 Cobra Convertible) A/C blows ice cold and heater is toasty warm Less than 63,000 documented original miles Always adult owned Free and Clear California Title Full disclosure part of the ad: The Not So Good Small accident in 2003 (rear end bump at a stop light) very light tap to rear bumper and was driven away. All body panels have the orginial Ford VIN identification tags in place. I have had the car inspected and I highly recommend that you do as well. You will not be disappointed. Recently the drivers side power seat is moving slow when bringing seat forward or back. Occasionally requires a little bit of encouragemnet Paint is original 1997 factory, although it is not bad, there are a few spots of oxidation (most noticeable the hood), spidering and where the clearcoat is separating or worn off (bumpers). I would say conservatively this is a 10 foot paint job meaning that as you move closer than that some of the problem areas become noticeable. That said, given that it is almost a 15 year old car I think it looks pretty dang good. I have tried to provide clear picutures so that there are no surpises (other than pleasant ones). Last, and most heartbreaking is the reason that I am selling. After several rounds bouncing back and forth between the California DMV and Galpin Ford Motor Sports (my closest authorized Roush dealer/repair and favorite speed shop) I have given up ever trying to be able to provide the documentation and EO#'s (Excetive Order Numbers) necessary to register this car in Ventura County, California. This car is just not CARB compliant and to try and make it so would be to destroy the car and this wild horse will not be broken. That said, if you live in California or in a state the has adopted the f'ing California emissions standards this car is NOT for you as she will only break your heart. So, at last count that leaves about 48 states where this pony can be registered without the California hassle and bureaucracy. I have a clear California title to the car. State of California was more than willing to give me a title in exchange for reigstrations fees and 8.75% sales tax. Only after the fact did they advise they were not willing to allow me to drive or enjoy it. Taking a chance on getting spotted by the man in blue I was able to log a few thousand miles since purchasing it last year. I can say with an absolute crud eatin' grin that the thrill factor is a 10+. If Heaven ever created anything more fun than this car She kept it for herself. Again, to CA people, if you know a guy who knows a guy etc. that does smog, or you have a buddy who will let you use an out of state address good 4 u and I hope it works out. If you buy this car and end up broken hearted and out a BUNCH of $$'s like me I do not want to hear about it. Car is sold with Bill of Sale and signed off Title unencumbered (Free and Clear) ONLY. No CA smog certificate! I am an honest seller who wants no disappointments. One last note, the starting price is far less than the Kelley Blue Book value for a private party sale of a regular, plain old 1997 GT Convertible Mustang in "Good" (not even excellent, just good) condition. LOL the supercahrger alone was a $4500.00 upgrade. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
