Vehicle Detail
On January 16, 2012, Ron Giampaolo, husband, father, friend and hero, lost his battle with soft tissue sarcoma. In his honor, we have established Ronny Gras (www.ronnygras.org), a fund raising event in Chicago, developed in conjunction with the Sarcoma Foundation of America (www.curesarcoma.org). The goal of the event is to raise money to fund research into this rare form of cancer. This past Christmas, we told him about our plans for Ronny Gras and presented him with his very own t-shirt. Not to be outdone by his family, Ron took that opportunity to donate the MG that is listed here today. 100% of the sale price of this car is being donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. To sweeten the deal on this 1979 Limited Edition MG, the successful bidder will send payment directly to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. In this way, your payment becomes a charitable donation and may be eligible for use as a tax deduction (see your accountant for details). Thank you in advance for your support of Ronny Gras, The Sarcoma Foundation of America and our family’s hero, Ron Giampaolo. Vehicle Description This car was purchased in October 2010. At that time, the current owner had been using this vehicle as a weekend driver, but maintenance was beyond their ability. According to Ron, this MG was in better shape than any other he’s ever purchased. There is the usual rust on both rocker panels and some rust around the two rear wheel wells. The trunk lid has some damage at the trunk support mounting location, but can easily be repaired. The dash is cracked on the passenger side. Otherwise, this car is in very good shape and is solid. The floors of the car are in excellent shape. It includes the LE wind dam, wheels and luggage rack. A two barrel Weber carburetor and aluminum intake was installed for more reliable daily driving. The convertible top is in great shape, with clear windows. Ron had driven the car around the subdivision a few times after he bought it. This is not a new car, but is a good looking car for someone who wants to drive it everyday. With a little work, this car could also be an excellent example of what an MG can be. Email me to have a look, you won’t regret it. I’ll be happy to answer any questions I can about the car.
