Vehicle Detail

1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight LS only 22,107 miles Hi. Thanks for looking. This is a 1999 Olds 88 in very good (like new) condition for its age. This was my sister-in-law's grandfather's car. He purchased the car new in rural Texas at the age of 81. He is now 94 and can no longer drive. I like the car and would keep it, but it drives like a boat (big car ride) and is not my type of car. I also have 4 other cars---one is brand new and don't have much room left. I don't want my H.O.A. or neighbors complaining about how many cars I have to keep the peace. I started writing about the car, but instead, I just listed/catagorized and described the car the best of my knowledge: Exterior: This car was always garaged--glossy paint, NOT ONE DING and cannot find any scratches. It has newly tinted windows (not very dark, enough to see out of and help keep bright light out). There is no bad rust/rot underneath besides maybe the usual surface rust. Interior: Very good/excellent shape, however, I cannot open the folding center console bin (nothing in it) and the color is coming off on asmall part of the steering wheel (see pics). Temperature controls work well as well as the sound system and CD player. Air conditioning works well. Has original floor mats and bot sets of keys. Engine: Excellent, smooth running, and strong. Belts in great shape. No problems with any accessories (a/c, power steering, etc.). No leaks. Engine oil/filer changed 3 weeks ago and was changed consistantly by grandfather. Transmission: Shifts good, however, only when hot (operating temp), sometimes the transmission will jerk when taking off from a start at a stop sign, then take off smoothly. I have taken it to the local dealer, but they are always swamped and ask me to come back later in the week.I've done this twice and gave up. I have asked a mechanic what the problem could be and he told me that its likely a known issue with a transmission solenoid. Fluid has been changed and is clean and red. Steering and Suspension: Rides very well. It was bouncy (I am used to driving European cars with stiffer suspensions) and I had the front strut changed (with alignment) and it rides much better. The Perelli tires are in excellent shape. Very good brakes. SUMMARY PLUSES: Very good/Excellent overall shape. 22,xxx original miles. Elderly pre-owned. NEW: Front struts, power antenna, window tint, headliner, recent battery. MINUSES: Cannot open center console, minor steering wheel discoloration, transmission may need new solenoid. I have done my best/honestly to describe the car. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will do my best to answer them. This IS REALLY A VERY NICE CAR. The transmission is the only main issue and cannot see it needing to be replaced with such low mileage. I really think its a minor part inside but I'm not spending extra time and money to have it looked at. It could also be covered under a 'hidden warranty' by GM, but don't know. Car is being sold as-is. I'm not a dealership, just and individual selling 'grandpa's' car. I am confident that this car can be driven almost anywhere with no problems, I have been driving it for the past few months. I live 10 minutes away from Houston Bush Intercontinental airport (IAH) if you want to fly in and drive it home. Please do not bid if you have negative or '0' feedback rating or cannot pay. Low reserve price. I don't think you will be disappointed. Again, thanks for looking.
