Up for auction is our 62 Mercury Monterey commuter. It is a very rare car of this model year, and only 3550 where produced. This car runs and drives, the 3 speed transmission is smooth to shift and does not make any noise. The clutch is solid. The car shows 71K+ on the odometer, but the title shows exceed limits. It does pull to the right when the brakes are applied , because of a sticking wheel cylinder. The power assist steering is bypassed for right now, but all parts are there including a new hydraulic cylinder. Also have a new tank. All the chrome and exterior parts are complete, very important for a future restoration. The door panels are all there but the front ones are removed. The headliner is missing. The car has the normal rust spots one will expect for this age, around the rear quarter panels and along side the rockers and doors. The tail gate is also rusted on the bottom but otherwise all intact. The Radio is all original and the spare tire and jack are there. The roof rack is in perfect condition and all intact. The heater core was bypassed awhile back, becurse of a leak. This is a solid car for a restoration as well as a good project car for a hot rod conversion. You get the typical 60 retro look, with the long panels and pointy rear lights. Also an great car for all your surfers out there. Put the board on the roof and plenty of room inside for your gear.
