1983 White Rabbit GTI. I searched all over for a similar vehicle to my high school car, a white 1984 GTI. Bought this a few years ago, and with a new baby in the family, never had the time to finish it correctly. Car runs but needs some things addressed to get it to daily driver status (my original intentions) Good: Virtually rust free. You'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner example. Engine starts, idles correctly, runs VERY strong. Previous owner installed new instrument cluster, and stated actual engine mileage is in the 110K range. Judging by the sound, no smoke, and strength, I have no reason to doubt that mileage. Prev. owner installed new cat and sport muffler for a lower growl sound. New anthracite 15 inch enkei's with new cooper tires. Custom blue LEATHER interior with red piping, prev. owner paid over $1,800 for this and the houndstooth headliner. Yakima roof rack, with locks and keys. Air Conditioning Working Sunroof New battery Alpine CD player and upgraded speakers, box in the trunk. Amp needs to be re-wired (I cut the wire by mistake) Neuspeed rear sway bar Bad: Needs new driver side front interior axle boot. Needs shifter adjustment. Has short shift kit on it now, in my opinion gears are way too close together. Needs new ground straps for engine. Needs general CIS fine-tuning (what older mk1 doesn't) Windshied is cracked Needs suspension busings (car drives as-is, but the squeaking older rubber drives me nuts)A/C is "dealer installed" aftermarket, it works but I would advise removing. This is a fun old mk1 GTI to tinker with. I had plans to get it close to stock and make it into a commuting car, but my newborn son changed that :-) I've done a ton of little upgrades (solid vents to replace the old leaking wings, touch-ups, lights, lenses, badges, a bunch of original navy interior pieces, etc) Car will need to be trailored or shipped due to the blown axle boot, but can be driven on trailer with ease. I also have a bunch of additional parts what will go with the car, as well as various manuals and literature.
