Vehicle Detail

I have only owned this car for a few months, so I do not know alot about its history (I bought it as a drive while you built project but the Trans Am in the last picture became available at a price I couldn't turn down.....so goodbye Formula). But I will tell what I know and I will try to answer all questions. DRIVETRAIN 455 engine non-original (originally 400) previous owner said was from 1972 Gran Prix with about 15,000 miles and 6 years since rebuild. Engine runs very well and is suprisingly powerful for as tame as it sounds (cheap headers leak though so the set of Hooker headers in picture go with car). T/H 400 transmission (original) rebuilt when 455 engine installed, shifts great. Original 10 bolt, limited slip rear end (not sure of ratio...would guess about a 3.42 to 1). BODY The car is currently in black primer. I wet the car down in many pictures to highlight how straight the body is (show any dings and dents). The only major rust that I see is on the lower, aft corner of the drivers side door and it is not that bad (picture) otherwise everything else is solid with only minor surface rust such as trunk pan and corner of dashboard (windshield needs to be resealed). Front valance is pretty dented up (picture), I don't think its repairable (cost about $200 new from Classic Industries). Door, window and trunk seals need to be replaced. Hood has a shaker type hood scoop fiberglassed into it....excellent workmanship! INTERIOR 95% of interior is intact, the interior probably needs the most work of any part of the car. Dash is cracked as is the center console lid (console is in good shape as are the door panels), seats could use recovering. Headliner and carpet are also in good shape. I think the steering wheel is from a later model car but center cap is correct. Tach does not work but all other gauges do. OTHER Battery has been relocated to trunk, so engine turns over slower than I like, although it starts every time...I would put back in engine compartment. Originally an air conditioned car but does not have compressor or brackets. Tail lights do not work all other lights do. Odometer reads 51,306 not sure how accurate this is. THIS CAR ACCELERATES, DRIVES and STOPS VERY WELL!!!....put some work into it and you have one great ride!!!!!!
