62 galaxie ready to cruise in bright red with big block 390 and 4 speed t-10 plus ford 9" 3:50 open rear, rebuilt engine to stock specs runs on reg gas ford rated at 300 hp 427 ftlb torq very fun to row thru the gears! the red continues inside with new upholstery just like factory, red steel dash and trim, door panels are 1961 copies that look better to me than 62( but 62 panels now avail. at dearborn classics) new headliner, even working retro early 60,s tach with dummy sending unit under hood, rechromed dash surround (very expensive for such a small part) has radio delete panel, new seat belts(came with none from ford) front windshield is new as is rubber seals front and back, door sill alum trim new, as is outside rocker trim($500 for both!) new bumpers front/rear($1400) spent months collecting undamanged trim but had to have hood and trunk trim restored look like new, have deleted the wide side trim that 500's have, looks better to me, but have all side trim in good shape, also deleted side view mirrors for looks but repops aval. car gets thumbs up on every drive and with back seat bring the family on cruise night. not a car seen every day but not so rare you cant drive it, parts are still avail new or repop and cross over parts from 60-64 galaxies still plentyfull, car orig came as 3 speed manual with elec. overdrive, was converted by previous owner, color was orig red with white top i changed ford red to "trans am red" looks bright red at noon and takes on orange hue at sunset. wheels and tires added just last year only 1000 miles on BFG RADIAL TA's and AMERICAN RACING TOURQ THRUST D's 15/6 front 15/7 rear. new gas tank with ss straps, have had car about 4 years driving for 3 years with no issues about 600 to 1000 miles per year, all the heavy work is done can be enjoyed now with no work, only detail work needed if you feel the need to"bond" such as door glass fuzzis need replacing, wiper motor not hooked up missmatch in wiring 1 speed motor with 2 speed wiring or vice versa use rain X, i hate wiring! and not flexable enough reach under dash, carpet looks good but is not molded like avail now, door panels look great but after a couple of hot fl summers glue coming undone at some edges, exhaust has mufflers at end of head pipe loud and proud! but will include set of cast iron shorty headers to put on if you wish to change exhaust,brakes where new when i got car 4 wheel drum, have changed wheel berings up front but would upgrade to front disc's if you plan on any spirited driving kit's aval on ebay for around $500, will include complete new suspension parts, front coil and rear 5 leaf springs with 2" drop from DEARBORN CLASSICS and 1" front swaybar 1/78th rear swaybar and all bushings ,ball joints, tie rod ends,drag link even hard to find center link, $1500 alone in these parts, car is fine now with some replacment parts from previous owners but good to have on hand. reserve price covers paint/ body new parts only. thank's for looking, going sailing!
