Vehicle Detail
390 V-8 300 Horsepower 4-Barrel Carburetor/Single Exhaust System New Battery Cruise-O-Matic Automatic 3-Speed,Just Professionally Rebuilt in November 2011!! Dealer installed correct Fiberglass Tonneau Cover Original Radio Included Power Windows Power Steering Power Brakes Swing-Away Steering Wheel Correct Bias-Ply Wide Whitewall Tires Mounted On Correct Kelsey-Hayes Wire Wheels (I ordered these tires from Coker Tire in Tn., and they have some "flat spots" from sitting in my garage so long, but I believe those will work themselves out once the car is driven a little. Correct Red Interior in excellent condition. I have a new ignition switch , and all the factory brushed aluminum trim for the dash, but a couple of pieces are still off since taking the old ignition switch out. (I'm not a mechanic, and for someone who knows what they are doing, it's an easy fix) I had the gas tank drained, blasted and re-installed last year, had the factory 4-barrel carb rebuilt, new alternator and fuel pump installed, and some other miscellaneous things done. If I were to keep the car, I would have the bumpers re-chromed, replace the "Q's" on the rear bumpers, and re-do the rockers and lower rear quarters where they used some filler when the car was restored 20+ years ago. The paint shows some age, (No Rips, tears etc. on seats, carpets, door panels) Correct convertible top in excellent condition (professionaly installed top with clear rear window) I have owned this car since 1989, and it has been in my garage for the most part and driven maybe 1,000 miles since I bought it. It was restored in 1988, and shows some age on the paint, but I believe it will buff out nicely. I also will include with "Buy-it-Now" the correct factory A/C compressor and original factory in-dash controls and vent, which I removed from a '63 hardtop I owned. I will also include the original owners manual, a complete new engine gasket kit, factory decal kit for the engine, trunk, etc. I also have brand new window "fuzzies" with chrome trim. The car is all there, and it wouldn't take a whole lot to get it where you could enjoy an attention getting cruise on the weekend, or a trip to the mountains or the beach with the top down and having a blast! The car has been in my garage for a number of years, and it is time to go. I would love to see someone be able to enjoy this car, and with a little TLC it would be a car that would garner the envy and appreciation of the folks that see you driving it! **I do have the car for sale locally, so I do reserve the right to end the listing if it sells prior to the scheduled end of the auction. On Feb-27-12 at 18:48:35 PST, seller added the following information: **2/27/12- Per many requests, I just added more pics. Driver side rear qtr has some filler, which I tried to show in pics (sorry, not a photographer). I took a couple shots under the car, and spots you see on gas tank are dirt or splatter , not rust. The car has some spots where the paint has chipped off, worst of which is the top of the driver side door , which is completely chipped off. Other things to note: I went to open the hood to take pics, and the hinge on passenger side snapped. I lowered the hood so it wouldn't bend, and I know it will need new hood hinges. The car runs, I drove it home after the transmission was rebuilt in November, and haven't really driven it since. As I mentioned in the description, the tires have "flat-spotted" since the car sat a long time, but I think they will work themselves out once it is driven more. The Kelsey Hayes wheels are complete with the spinners, and they show their age. I believe all the spokes are there, but they have some surface rust, and the rear passenger side wheel has a good bit of it. To answer some other questions I've gotten...The car is not a factory Sport Roadster. If it were, the price would be considerably higher. I'm pretty sure the mechanism to lower the top into the trunk needs 1 or more new relay switches. I had to replace one several years ago when the top wouldn't go down properly. As I mentioned in the original description, I would include some factory a/c parts with a "buy it now" purchase. I do not have the ductwork etc. I have the compressor with pulley wheel and bracket, and the factory chrome in-dash a/c vent, which has the controls built in. If you want to make a reasonable offer , I will consider including all of the extra parts I have for the car. Also : I cannot accept trades, I am located in Greenville, SC. The airport is "GSP". I am currently working about 70+ hours a week, and I will try to answer email questions as soon as I can, but I don't monitor my account every hour, so I am sorry I am unable to reply sometimes right away. I am lowering the Buy-it-now, and the reserve as of today. Please bid accordingly. If you want a "show car", this is not what you want. If you want a car that you won't have to have $30k in to enjoy, and it's a 63 Bullet Bird you seek, bid accordingly. If it doesn't sell on this auction or locally by Thursday, I will re-list. I am ready to sell the car, and I have tried to describe every detail as I know it. I've owned it over 20 years, and it's time for it to go. Bid accordingly, and Good Luck!
