Vehicle Detail

This is one of the finest examples of a Shelby Charger you will find in North America, of any model year (I was looking for a long time before I bought this one). This car runs perfectly with no issues. The paint was redone a few years ago in the stock glossy black and metallic silver. The pinstripes are painted on, as the decals are no longer available. The rest of the decals are reproduction. I bought this car 3 years ago from another fanatical owner who did a lot of the restoration work, and I continued with rebuilding the turbo, head, headgasket, and adding a full 3" exhaust from swing valve to tailpipe. Here are the details: Engine · Turbo 1 engine · Complete period-correct Spearco side-mount intercooler and custom welded log manifold with lower intake (RARE!) · Brand new Mopar Performance Head Gasket and Head Bolts (2011) · Turbo rebuilt with new seals and balanced impeller by G-Pop Shop (2011) · Swirl head was rebuilt by Steve Menegon with +1mm valves, roller cam, plus mild porting (2011)· Fidanza adjustable camshaft gear, set to 0 degrees at the moment (stock setting, original gear included along with cover) · Newer 1989 valve cover with one piece seal, painted silver and clear coated · Turbo at 18 PSI · New stainless steel turbo lines from Turbos Unlimited (2011) · New Radiator (2012)· Air Conditioning blows cold with no leaks · Runs perfectly with no issues on fueling, idling, WOT Exhaust – Full 3” installed 2011 · Custom 3” mandrel bent swingvalve with constant radius · 3” custom welded downpipe · 3” Hi-Flow Catalytic Converter, which is removable. Custom welded 3” straight pipe included. · 3” Magnowflow muffler with 3” chrome single tip end · Full 3” pipes from FWD Performance · Professionally fitted, welded and installed by Borla East in Lebanon NJ · No interference issues anywhere · Car PASSED strict NJ emissions, good till October 2012 Drivetrain · 525 transmission, recently resealed with new input shaft seal (2012) · Coveted period correct, bullet proof Shelby Limited Slip Racing Differential, worth +$1000 · Clutch is in great shape, plenty of life, and does not slip under 18 PSI of boost· Stock rod shifter, which I prefer over cables· Driver side of differential case has a very small drip leak, I think its the axle seal. Very minor. Suspension · Real GLHS Koni Adjustable Orange Shocks and Struts · Mopar Performance Autocross springs · Energy Suspension poly bushings for sway bar (2012) Brakes · Brakes are completely stock · Accufab rear anti-lock system, also period correct Body · Complete paint job done in 2008. Paint is glossy and brilliant. The ¼” stripes are painted on, not decals. Windows and trim were removed during paint process.· New windshield 2008 · Compete Shelby reproduction decal set applied · No rust, no holes. Very solid car all around and underneath. Slight surface scale as usual on bottom. · No dents· No leaks in any door, hatch or window seals · Sunroof in great shape and fully functional, no leaks Rims / Tires · Stock pizza rims, 3 are perfectly refinished, one has unnoticeable scratch on lip, but otherwise perfect. Not significant enough to bother with a repair. · 17x7 Konig Foil rims (June 2011). Perfect and unscratched. Currently installed on car. · Nitto NT Neo Gen 215/40ZR17 tires ( June 2011). About 100 miles on them. · Both sets of rims included Interior · Interior is 9/10 · Seats are in great shape, as is headliner and panels · Shelby floor mats. Driver side a little worn, but until I can find another real Shelby set… · Carpet is great shape· Autometer 20 PSI boost gauge, black with blue LED light (Cobalt Series)· Blue LEDs in dash that are MUCH brighter than stock incandescent bulbs with blue filters (original filters included) · Grant grey 4-spoke steering wheel. Slightly smaller than stock with leather cover. Feels great and removes that ‘driving a bus’ feeling. Stock steering wheel is also included. · Late model Pioneer radio with iPOD connectivity. Phoenix Gold speakers all around. MISC · Paperwork dating back to 1990 showing all service performed, parts ordered, custom work completed, etc. Extensive collection of receipts!· Noah Car Cover included, made for this exact car and fits perfectly. · Car formerly owned by another respected member of the Turbo Dodge / Mopar community. Lot’s of history with this car. · Cars looks great, get tons of compliments and people talking to me at stoplights. · There are VERY few Shelby Chargers, GLHS’ included, that are in this good of a condition. Title is clear and in hand. This is a special car looking for a special owner who knows what this is and what they want. You can drive this car anywhere. Garage kept under a cover, never driven in salt. Car is now HISTORIC, 25 years old. 69 photos available upon request, eBay forbids posting the link. Car must be picked up. Feel free to drive it home! I flew to Minnesota and drove it home to NJ 3 years ago, no problem! Thanks for looking! On May-07-12 at 07:45:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Some have asked about this intercooler and airflow. There is a scoop underneath the car that forces air into a 3" duct. This duct routes air up and into one side of the intercooler (the right side, you can see a metal triangular shroud). This blows ram air across the intercooler. This was a Spearco kit offered in 1990 or so, and required modifications to the log manifold. It is quite effective. That being said, you can move the intercooler to the front of the car by just extending the piping. I didn't want to cut any holes and never had an issue with the performance.
