Vehicle Detail

Had a family meeting recently and decided one of our busses needed to be sold. Simply too many projects going at one time to give all of them appropriate attention. We've decided to keep our Caravelle Camper and Turkis 15 window in the family after long deliberations on what to do. With that decision having been made, please find a wonderful, and nearly finished, 1959 Double Door Panel up for auction. All rust repair done professionally, two coats of Nason primer, one coat of Delstar single stage enamel. All new seals on front and rear windows, glass OG and clean. Door frames, rails, etc. have same primer/paint and are tip-top. Door glass is OG, clean and intact. Colors are period correct Gray on the exterior and Almond inside. Frame on front seat cleaned & painted, new padding and new seat covers; all in great shape. Two tone wheels with correct tires with loads of life left, still has tire hair! Have treated, grey, board panels (kick, door, roof) ready to be installed. Does not have the seat partition or glass. Uncut dash is also a nice compliment to such a clean ride. Both original glass tail lights come with the sale but are broken. Including the rollers, repop fiberglass pressed bumpers (primer & painted), same two tone wheel for spare, extra wheels, tubs of misc. parts, etc. Engine, as the pics show, is absolutely a work of art. Professionally built 1914cc, dual carbs that breathes very well. Our local Denver guys at Painter's Grinding (thanks S., E., R., K. et al.) are the ones who did the work and are absolute magicians! ZERO MILES on the engine, here is your chance to break in your ride as you'd want it broken in. Needs to have the door frames put together, the Wiring Works harness installed, install the included speedo and 12v fuel gage, drop in a battery of your choice and you'd be ready to roll. As an added bonus, the pesky split case has been replaced which will keep unnecessary hassles down to a minimum. Brand new brake lines, hoses, calipers, shoes and a German M/C. Brand new fuel lines and brand new gas tank. New gas cap too. Believe I have the door components although some of that may need to be found elsewhere, nothing major just wanted to mention. M code plate;09 04 9360 175UO 215 GREY 457459 Truly pains me to sell this beautiful bus but having three is just too many in one house. Had plans to wet sand down to some of the primer and create a "faux antiqued" panel to rocket around in over the summer. Even had some fun logos that were in contention but time is preventing us from getting it to the point we wanted. Bus spent first part of its life in CA, then AZ and finally here in CO. Ironic that so much time/effort/money would be spent on getting rid of rust only to have it be made to look rusty again. Yea, I know, my daughter calls me a geek all the time also. . . . Starting bid is 99 cents and the auction is without reserve. Had a buyer who found the bus on a site that rimes with "La Ramba" but their financing fell through. Thankfully made a friend through the process but regrettably couldn't complete the sale. To that end, please have the funds available to pay the $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of winning the bus and completing the sale within seven (7) days of auction end. Bidders without any ebay history, please be cool and contact me before bidding to make sure you are on the up and up. Would prefer to keep a few busses as special as this here in the States although am willing to sell overseas. On Apr-27-12 at 08:20:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Pheww, thank you all for your interest and questions asked. Although I figured this bus would generate some interest, I didn't think it'd get this much attention. Will address the most commonly asked questions so everyone will be on the same page; Yes, the bus does have a clean title and is ready to be put into the winning bidder's name. In its current state, the bus would need to either be towed back to your home or have the wiring harness, et al., addressed before it can be driven home. There are a few shops that I'm sure would be pleased to do the work here in the Denver area, the above mentioned would be worth considering if that is the route you'd elect to take. If I had more time, I'd complete the bus (as covered above) and undoubtedly fetch more for it although I'm simply unable to give it the attention it needs right now. Nice bonus for the winning bidder though, finish the last bits-&-bots and you'll create a great deal of value. Would be happy to show it in person starting at the beginning of next week. The bus is located just west of Denver, not very far from the beautiful Evergreen Lake. Misspelled "rhymes" in mentioning the other site in the description, whoops. Neither the Caravelle Camper or the 15 window are for sale as those will remain in the family for quite some time. Hope this helps. Thanks again for your interest and happy bidding. On May-01-12 at 11:30:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Please find photos taken, and added, to the description a few minutes ago covering the under carriage/wheel wells/belly pan/etc. as requested by a number of interested parties. Forgive the delayed additions, still busier on this end than I care to admit. The two side sections of the belly pan were removed to correctly address the minor rust areas and new ones have not been added. As you can see in the images, the welds were well done and all rust has been removed. For those of you who realize you are bidding against the guy behind you and not negotiating with me, thank you. There still is not a buy-it-now price as the market is going to determine what this bus is worth. Unless the winning bidder buys it for more than 16,000 dollars, I'm going to eat a loss on this project. I under stand and accept that as fact. If you want a running and complete bus then I suggest you purchase the beautiful blue '55 panel on ebay right now for $21,500. Or, as another option, there is a stunning red & grey '60 double door panel on the site that rhymes with "la ramba" for a cool $29,000. This DD Panel is not finished, which is to say the winning bidder has the ability to complete the bus and create a tremendous amount of value. Thank you, again, for those who recognize this as an opportunity rather than a completed bus. If it were finished, I'd not be offering it on ebay and would have a fixed amount I'd want for the bus. My tight schedule is simply preventing me from the final touches and I'd much rather see it in the capable hands of the winning bidder than storing & ignoring the bus for who knows how long. The bus has a fresh coat of paint as described above and can be finished however the winning bidder chooses. Leave it as it is remains a great option. Or you can paint it how ever you want, or wet sand it down and antique the patina if you choose. Add your company's logo and use this bus as an advertising vehicle, or delivery bus. Once the winning bidder has won the bus, they can do what ever they want to with it when it is theirs. Yes, the motor has been dyno tested and purrs wonderfully. Once the wiring harness, et al., are installed this really is going to be a stellar ride. At the time this information is added to the description, including the new photos, there is just under 80 hours left in the auction. Although I remain happy to help in any manner possible, remembering the Golden Rule, it may take a while for me to respond. I have, and will continue to, respond to every person who has any questions. Unless you are a Rothschild or a descendant of Mr. Carlos Slim, what ever the bus sells for is a lot of money. That goes for us as well, especially factoring in the nominal loss and labor lost on this end. My primary hope is that this bus finds a good home and the new caregiver is pleased with their new double door.
