Vehicle Detail
1964 Pontiac LeMans Sport Coupe is decent operable condition. Originally a California car, but has been in eastern Washington since about 1980. 215ci straight six motor with two-speed powerglide transmission and 10 bolt rear end. Power steering and power brakes, but no air conditioning. Original factory color was Singapore Gold, now in black primer with black bucket seat interior. I have a copy of the build sheet from PHS showing that this was originally sold in Burlingame, CA, with tinted glass, dash pad, bucket seats, front seat belts, power steering, wheel covers, radio, automatic, chrome mouldings, and the always desireable dual horns. This Pontiac, starts right up and drives just fine. The steering is tight and the motor does not emit any smoke or make any unusual noises. The transmission shifts fine. Mileage indicated above is correct, but has probably been over at least once. The car was being driven pretty regularly up until about 2003 when is was parked in a garage. A perfect clone car or just drive it like it is. The exterior sheet metal is all in reasonably good shape with no obvious soft spots or rust through areas and no evidence of collision damage. Rockers are solid. Front floor pans are in good shape, although with surface rust. The trunk floor pan has some pinholes and a couple of dime sized holes along with surface rust. The undercarriage appears original with surface rust, but no rusted out areas. The frame also has surface rust, but nothing that warrants replacement or welding in sections. The gas tank has been cleaned and lined. The grill, bumpers and exterior chrome trim are all there and in decent condition - not show car, but useable. The front has been slightly lowered by about 1.5 inches, and I can't figure out how this was done unless the springs were heated - it does not appear that they were cut. The engine compartment looks pretty much stock and I don't think that the motor has ever been out of the car. The interior is all original, such as it is. The front buckets are in need of recovering. The rear seat is in pretty good shape. The dash pad is cracked and the headliner is in place, but held together with safety pins. The front carpet is gone, but the rear carpet in intact. The interior trim panels are all there, but in poor condition. The glass is all in decent shape except for a rock ship in the windshield, and the mouldings are in decent shape and only missing a couple of the small, corner, angle pieces. The wheels are an older set of Cragars with nearly new tires. All in all, a great car to clone to a GTO, or just drive it, or supercharge the 215 and make a sleeper out of it. Delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser, but I will assist in any reasonable manner. Clear Washington title in my name and current registration/tabs.
