Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1992 Mazda Miata. I bought it new in the spring 20 years ago. I enjoyed using the car from 1992 till the fall of 2001. I then placed her in storage because of a growing family with the intention of returning her to the road in the future. That time came last spring. I had her completely restored and I gave her as a gift. Unfortunately the things I liked best about this car did not appeal to her new owner. This Miata is the most basic: no A/C, 5-speed, and no power steering. The car was returned to me a year after gifting it because the new owner was not using it. It was not her style.I cannot keep the car as I live in NYC with a family. So she is for sale. After the restoration outlined below the car runs as she did back in the 90's. She has been on the road for the past year with no issues since her return after 10 years. This is a special opportunity for someone to purchase a classic, road-ready, and reliable 2-seater convertible. She was given a new top about one year before storage began back in 2000; the top works well without issue. This is a list of the repairs by the mechanic who did the work:Parts replaced: ignition plugs, ignition wires, fuel pump and filters, belts, wipers, battery, air filter, engine oil, engine filter, engine coolant, transmission fluid, rear differential fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, all 4 tires, wheel alignment, brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, front brake hoses too, coolant hoses, right front fender panel, dings were repaired on body, complete body paint job, and complete interior detailed. If I am forgetting something I do apologize. All that for the most part covers just about the whole car. It may be easier to go with I didn't do: I didn't do the clutch, struts, sway bar links and any ball joints or tie rod ends. The Mechanic who did this work is family and worked on the car over last winter. We never thought I would be selling my car, consequently, I do not have receipts for the work done. Sorry. The car is located in Manhattan. I am happy to show her off on a test drive to a serious buyer. Some final words:the stereo is present but needs to be replaced.the rims are after market and in great shape.the carpet is missing in the trunk because of the clean after storage.there are a few marks on her since she returned to the road last spring; a chip on the front bumper and a chip behind the rear wheel well on the driver side.the seats have faded some because she was often in the sun with the top down. This car is for someone who likes to drive top down. On Apr-19-12 at 18:43:25 PDT, seller added the following information:Timing belt was inspected and found to be good with no cracks or wear. Water pump had no play, leaking, nor seeping. This info is also from mechanic in response to questions.
