1928 Nash 330 Special 6 Cabriolet Convertible. Normal.dotm 0 0 1 1036 5910 Take Your Car To Auction, LLC 49 11 7257 12.0 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false It is not hard to believe that all young children love old cars The rumble seat was the favorite seat in the house for kids back in 1928 and in 2012 nothing has changed. Grandfathers will be a hero when they take the kids for a ride in this 1928 Nash rumble seat convertible coupe. For those people who know, the Nash convertible coupe has many personalities and is as much fun as any roadster but has roll-up windows and a convertible top that seals up the occupants 100%. Yet when the top is down and the kids are in the rumble seat everybody gets a ride that they never forget. To top that off Nash was a medium sized car with a really large engine. Some might call it the “muscle car” of the day. The owner of this car purchased this car in approximately 1988 and has had it for almost a quarter of a century and has babied it every year and it was basically his only old car and so it got all of his attention. He is now getting up in the years he finds that it is time to let the car have a new owner, hopefully with a family that can enjoy it the way he has with his family. As you can see there are pictures of all parts of the car including the underside. It is not being presented as a show car but a great tour car and while it will probably never win a first or second prize at a show it might win a third at the local show. And yet for personality it will take a first prize every time. In the roaring 20’s Nash was more then competitive and would run the pants off of the 4 cylinder Chevys and Model A’s. You don’t often see 1928 Nash’s for sale and when you do they are usually four door sedans or coupes. Convertible coupes are extremely rare and this is a rare opportunity to find one on being hosted on MissChiTown LLC site for sale. Charles Nash was once president of Buick and later GM in Detroit before setting up an independent manufacture of cars under his own name. The firm expanded during the 20s and 30s, building a series of advanced 6-cylinder cars of varying size, using engines with 7 main bearing crankshafts, which made them incredibly smooth running. The engine is as stated - a 6 cylinder, 7 main bearing side valve unit of 3010cc. The car has 4 wheel brakes, as did all Nash cars from 1924 and is built on a strong, if conventional chassis, with semi-elliptic springs front and rear and fitted with a 3 speed gearbox and central shift. The seller even has just about all the records on it. The coachwork is finished in fire engine red and black, with a gorgeous fabric covered roof. This beautiful Nash has an older restoration and has been owned by the same family for a quarter of a century, being well cared for and enjoyed. This lovely Nash is a truly exceptional example of a rare marquee, with a large, smooth 6-cylinder engine and a wonderful opportunity to acquire an American vintage car that will be lots of fun. One of the great pleasures of owning a 1928 Nash is that there is a very active Nash Car Club of America and any owner would be happy to bring this car to their regional meets (www.NashCarClub.org). The Nash six cylinder was legendary and when put in a lightweight coupe like this car, it was known for it quick acceleration and excellent cruising speeds. It is believed that the engine is 184 cu. in. and the transmission is a 3-speed manual transmission. The car seats two under the convertible coupe roof and two in the rumble seat for a thrilling ride. This car represents America at the peak of the roaring 20’s when good looks, speed and comfort were all combined into a car like this 1928 Nash Landau Convertible Coupe! Note – this car is not a roadster as it has roll up windows and can be easily driven in foul weather like rain and wind at cruising speeds. In 1928 Nash was charging up the sales chart and reached as high as 8th in the industry production. All Nash cars were well engineered and solid at reasonable prices and in this price range it was the only American car with a seven bearing, six cylinder engine. Rumble seat with armrest rails. Beautiful wood steering wheels. Step plates on the running boards and step plates up into the rumble seat. MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE From the seller: The seller has owned this 1928 Nash 330 Special Cabriolet Convertible in fire engine red and black with wire wheels since November of 1988. However, he did not title it until 1990 as per the clear title states. This Nash has bumpers, roll-up windows, an electric starter, a rumble seat and a gold club compartment. The odometer reads 54,400 miles. It has an older restoration with a few chips and dings. The seller thinks it is a #3 car. All the seats have been redone. The seller has put in an electric gas pump and disconnected the gravity feed. He has just about all the records on this car!!
