Vehicle Detail
This car starts up, runs and drives better than it looks like it might. The power steering, power brakes, transmission, and convertible top structure all work and seem pretty smooth. The top mechanics go up and down but top has been removed. Drives smooth but it has lacked attention. Doors, hood and trunk act normal. Garaged and ran only enough to keep it in drivable shape for last several years. Shows 81K but miles unknown. Appears to me it could actually be original paint. The car is pretty straight and things line up nice. Several small dents and small areas of rust but very restorable. I think everything is there on the outside. Brake lights and headlights work. Interior needs to be mostly redone. It has some rust on panels and the blinkers, climate controls and radio work only rarely and should expect to be fully serviced. All seats need to be replaced. Front seats not original and not secured well enough for street. No back seat. Missing some interior pieces but most of it seems to be there. Windows are hand power and all work nicely. Windshield has crack. This car really is a good project for restore or do some basic things and make it a driver for now. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. On Apr-10-12 at 22:19:39 PDT, seller added the following information:If you don't have at least several (and all good) feedbacks please contact me before bidding or placing further bids. The car was made in late 1971, using with a 1971 VIN, however it was titles as a 1972 so it is legally a 1972 / verified by Oregon Department of Vehicles... and no the 40 year old paint will not buff out any more... it will need to be repainted :-)On Apr-11-12 at 21:42:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Oregon DMV confirmed to me today that this is titled correctly as a 1972. Yes the VIN matches on the title. The car is sold as-is with the VIN and title as-is. Thank you.
