My father has decided to sell his 1940 Packard 120 Sedan that he and I restored 6 years ago. The restoration of this car was a long and extensive one. It was stripped to bare metal blocked and painted. The paint looks very good. It has been driven so there are a couple of very small rock ships but they are insignificant enough that they are not noticeable. All of the chrome was either replated or replaced. The inlets on the side of the hood, side stripe trim and grill louvers are stainless steel. The engine was major overhauled. The exhaust system is all new. The carburetor was overhauled as was the starter and generator. The fuel tank was cleaned and coated. The steering was rebuilt as was the brake system. The radiator was flushed and roded, a new water pump was installed and a new thermostat. The tires were new last year and the hubcaps are new. The interior was all replaced except the headliner. The original banjo steering wheel was recast and looks new. All of the gages were sent out and overhauled and all work fine. The wire harness was replaced with an exact reproduction. It is still 6V. A few months ago the windshield wipers stopped working. I assume the motor went bad. We did keep a book of receipts. A 6v electric fuel pump has been installed. This is a fabulous example of an original car. You will never find another automotive icon like this. It starts up every time and drives like new!!
