Up for your consideration is this 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SL. This is an absolute, seven day, no reserve auction (with no shill bids), and this car will be sold to the winning bidder at the end of the auction. The exterior color is gold and the body is strait with minor blemishes. It appears the left rear quarter panel has been repainted, there are two dings in the front bumper behind the license plate and there is a small crack in the lower corner of the rear glass (refer to the pictures). I have not seen the soft top, but it's reported to be in good condition. The trunk is missing the side carpet (refer to pictures) The interior is brown leather with brown carpet and is in overall fair to good condition. There are cracks/tears on the center armrest, a crack/tear on the passenger seat panel and some wear on the drivers seat (refer to the pictures). The drivers seat panel appears to have been replaced. The car comes with authentic sheep skin seat covers that are in good condition. The hard top headliner is in good condition and has a small tear about one inch in size, and the dash has some cracking (refer to pictures). There is an after market stereo currently installed, and the original Becker radio is included. Mechanically the car is in good condition showing than 113,000 miles. The engine starts, idles, accelerates and runs as it should, and the transmission shifts crisply. Overall the car feels solid, the steering feels tight and there are no known mechanical issues. The heater blows warm air and the air conditioner blows cold air. There are extensive maintenance records totaling over $$20,000 since March of 2005 that include the following... Replaced intake manifold gaskets, O rings, fuel pressure regulator, accumulator and fuel distributor Replaced timing chain and tensioner Replaced brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake hoses and master cylinder Replaced alternator Replaced front lower ball joints, rebuilt idler arm, steering gear overhauled, tie rods replaced Replaced front and rear transmission seal Replaced window regulator, hard top seals and pillar seals Replaced muffler, catalytic converter and crossover pipe Replaced water pump Replaced starter With regard to overall condition, I would describe this car as a non pristine daily driver in average to good condition cosmetically, and very good condition mechanically. The recent maintenance performed on the car is a big plus, and you should be able to get many more years of summer fun from this car. I'm listing this car for a friend, but I have personally viewed and ridden in the car for about 40 miles and I believe I have accurately described this car.
