1982 Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbo Diesel Coupe I purchased this classic Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbo Diesel Coupe for my wife a few years ago after an extensive search for a low mileage, well maintained car that would be an easy restoration. Unfortunantely unanticipated health issues since have prevented me from completing the project. This very nice garage kept car as can be seen from the pictures below, is light beige in color with a palomino MB-Tex interior, which is in excellent original condition. The rear seats appear almost like new and the first aid kit unopened (see photo). The dash is not cracked and the carpets only slightly worn. The finish on the wooden surfaces of the console is cracked and they should be replaced or refinished. The radio has been upgraded with a Blaupunkt Radio/CD/MP3/WMA player, which is in perfect working order. The original exterior paint is shiny with only minor nicks and dings as would be expected for a 30 year old car. The trim and rubber are good but there is a small dent on the upper surface of the grill (see photo). There is a small dent on the rear bumper. Also, the plastic surrounding the drivers side headlight is slightly crazed (see photo). Overall, mechanically the car is in very good condition. The engine is strong, the suspension and steering tight and the wheels and tires excellent. The automatic transmission does not slip but shifts hard and needs adjustment. the climate control system works properly and has recently been recharged. The sunroof works well but the rear side windows lower only halfway (see benzforum.com for DIY fix). The gauges work but the tachometer is intermittent.
