Vehicle Detail

My husband has owned this gem for two years, and is selling with great reluctance. But, he has too many cars to drive already, and he has a nagging wife. Rather than trying to put his description into flawless prose, I am merely reproducing it here as he wrote it. If you need any clarification, please contact me, and I will get you the information you need. From my husband: "The first post-war exuberant Ford! Burgundy color, V8, standard shift, interior is an "8" (on a scale from 1 to 10), paint is an "8," original 8-tube radio and all gauges work. Clean inside and out. Hubcaps, wheels, original 16", wipers work, good brakes, and a great ride. Magic Aire heater with doors, and has been licensed and insured for daily driving. Was originally titled in Canada as a 1947, but she is without doubt a '46. View the pictures and you will be in love!" The title does say it is a 1947, but if you know your old Fords, you can tell by looking at it that it is a 1946 (parking lights are in a different place and there is a Ford inscription on rear bumper that is not on later models). There are very few dings on this car, and I have tried my best to show them in the pictures. If you need more pictures, please ask for them. There is a crack in one of the rear windows (shown in picture), but it does not affect the window's operation. This car has been maintained, but it does occasionally have what my husband calls a vapor-lock wherein it sometimes won't start when the engine is hot. This is something a handy person could fix. Once it cools down, it is fine to start again. Just don't try to use it in a bank robbery, or if you do, don't shut off the engine! Happy bidding! On Apr-12-12 at 15:53:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting some questions about this vehicle that I would like to try to answer, at least in general terms. I have been going through the paperwork I discovered on this car, and previous owners definitely have maintained it. The file is about an inch thick, but I have given up trying to decipher all the handwriting. My husband alone has put about $1,500 into it, and these dollars went toward the wiper motor, the radiator, the fuel sender, the antenna, the radio, the oil fitting, the generator, and the brakes. I came across one note that says, the fuel tank vent leaks slightly when full. I did not come across a receipt for rustproofing, but there is very little rust that I can see. There is slight rust on the front and back bumpers.Based upon the record of maintenance and the relative rarity of this vehicle, I think it is extremely reasonably priced. Thanks for your interest, and happy bidding!
