Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very rare real AMX project car. Model # 7179-8 Body # R010118 Trim 163S Paint B6A Partial # E04937 No engine or transmission, No rear wheels and tires, radiator, or windshield. Front bucket seats are above average, steering column apart but still steers (spare one also included). A very amatuer restoration was attempted at some time in it's life. Appears LF fender and L door were replaced at that time (with used items), partially stripped (gray primer is recent) spray can?, brush painted, rust, previous patches welded in. Frame, shock towers, front inner structure, floor pans and trunk pan are pretty good (see photos). Will need rocker panels, lower quarters, fender patch panels, door bottoms, etc. The rest is straightenable and repairable. A bunch of misc. parts go with car. The new Javelins spoilers and fiberglass cowl-induction hood were inspired by Mark Donohue for Trans Am Racing. This vehicle came from the factory with the 330 HP 401 V8 engine, Torque Command automatic transmission and 354:l Twin Grip limited slip rear end. Only 2054 AMX Javelins were built!! Out of that number with only 745 equipped with the 401 V8. These cars ran mid 14's at 93 mph right off the showroom floor, weighing in at 3244 lbs. 74,408 original miles One owner Power disc brakes Power steering A mere 7 percent of Javelin's were AMX optioned Electric Blue code B6 Rim blow steering wheel Blue bucket seat interior Floor shifted automatic shifter Optional fiberglass cowl induction hood Rally Pac instrumentation included guages, 5000 redline 8000 rpm tach and 140 mph speedometer as part of the "Go" package Heavy Duty suspension Car still retains it's cowl inducted fiberglass hood, deck lid spoiler, Go Pac Rally instrumentation with 5000 redline tach (one cracked lens). This is a project car needing a lot of work!! Do not expect a show car!! Clear IL title. Buyer responsible for shipping or pick-up, will assist in any way I can.
