Up for bid is this rare Ex California Highway Patrol 2004 Ford Expedition. It is equipped from the factory with a 5.4 Liter V8, automatic transmission, FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE, tow package, cruise control, tilt wheel, power driver's seat, remote keyless entry, power steering, power disc brakes, ABS, power windows, power door locks and AM/FM/CD radio. In addition to the factory equipment, the CHP added dual spotlights (disconnected) and a Go Rhino pushbar. Since acquiring this Expedition, we'e repainted it in solid black to comply with the California vehicle code. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips, tears or stains. The factory rubber floor mat is in excellent condition with no cuts or splits. There is one spot in the headliner behind the passenger's sunvisor where a piece of equipment rubbed through the material. Mechanically this CHP Expedition runs great and we have encountered no problems in the miles that we've put on it. Everything works as it should including the heater, air conditioning and 4-wheel-drive. CHP maintains their fleet very well and this Expedition is no exception. With their current budget situation, CHP is running their cars, trucks and suv's much longer than before and retiring them with much higher mileage. It isn't unusual to see a CHP truck or suv with well over 200,000 miles anymore. The reserve will not be disclosed during the auction. VEHICLE REGISTRATION, SALES TAX, SMOG, FEES, ETC: We are a licensed California auto dealer. The state requires that if you're out of state and plan on coming here to pick up the vehicle, you need to know that California law REQUIRES the buyer to pay sales tax, registration, and smog fee's if they pick up the car and drive it away. This is still the LAW even if you put the car on your trailer and it never touches the California roadway. If you're out of state, avoid can avoid all of these required fees by having your car shipped to your state. This in most cases is less expensive anyway by the time you figure gas, lodging, and other expenses. If you're an out of state buyer but picking up the vehicle and driving home, we can reduce the state required registration to a $16.00 one trip permit, but the other fees will still apply.If you are a California resident, we collect sales tax, registration fee, and a $58.25 smog inspection fee. We then provide you with temporary registration in the window so you can legally drive the vehicle until your title and license plates arrive in the mail. All sales require a $55.00 DMV and paperwork fee.
