Im selling a 1987 mustang GT convertible 5 speed. The body has 172,000 miles on it. I purchased the car a few months ago but I dont have the time anymore to complete this project so i have decided to sell it and free up some room in my garage. This would make a good project or parts car. In addition to this car i have a bunch of parts that will be included. The previous owner stripped an LX convertible so i have pretty much every part that the car needs. The starting price is set at $1,200 which i think is a good price for the car and all the extra parts. You could probably sell some of the extra parts included and get most of your monday back. Title: Ebay is making me list the title as salvaged due to a record of the car being salvaged back in 2001. The title is no longer salvaged and is now marked as recovered theft. The car was last registered in 2008. Motor: The motor starts right up and idles good. The tranny works with no issues. The only issue with it is that it overheates after running for awhile and alittle bit of white smoke comes out of the drivers side exhaust pipe. Ive been told this can be caused by a coolant leak. A few Possible causes of a coolant leak on the 5.0 motor could be head gasket, lower intake gasket, egr gasket, or a crack in the block. The car has a msd ignition. It also has an upgraded cam im not sure what it is but it sounds nice. The exhaust has no cats. The passenger exhaust tip is lower then the drivers side in the pics but that is just due to a missing exhaust hanger. The battery is bran new. Also the water pump and thermostat were replaced. Brakes: The pedal grabs at the very bottom. Its not leaking brake fluid so i think it just has air in the system from being parked for awhile. I have a backup master cylinder and booster just incase. The e-brake is not working. Body: The paint is chipping and the car does have some rust. It is in need of body work and a new paint job. The car has some rust on the drivers side floor and in the trunk were the spare tire goes. The rest of the floor is solid i think this rust was caused due to water leaking in while the car was parked outside by the previous owner. The back glass is not broken but it is not attached to the convertible top it has come undone from the fabric. The drivers side rear window is loose it appears to have been pushed in. I have a complete rear window with frame to replace this. The passenger side door handle is broken but i have that part. The car has ultra rims with good tires. The tires still have a decent amount of tread remaining. The convertible top is in good shape no tears or rips besides the back window issue mentioned above. The latches are missing on the top but i have a spare convertible frame included with the car that has the latches. The front bumper has a crack in the fog light opening on the drivers side. The rear saleen wing is cracked at the very back. The bumper and rear wing are fixable. Interior: The interior needs to be redone but pretty much all the parts needed are included. The previous owner painted some plastic parts yellow but i have all of those in gray. The seats are actually in good shape no tears or rips. They are in need of a cleaning. The carpet is also in good shape just needs to be cleaned. Electrical: The following items are what ive noticed are not working currently. The temp gauge is not working but i was able to figure out that its just the sensor on the motor. This is a cheap part to replace. The rear windows are not working. The car does not have a radio. The light switch needs to be replaced but that part is included. The power top is not working. I think its the pump but a spare one is included. Im sure im forgetting something. I have only owned the car for a few months so i am not sure if any other issues exist. This car is being sold as is. If you are interested and have any questions send me an email. Doors are in good shape panels just need to be cleaned up. I was going to install these and get rid of the doors currently on the car. extra convertible frame with pumps, lines, and motor. rear windows with gears and frame a bunch of gray interior parts to replace the current interior that is either broken or damaged. a few of the parts are dash, center console, vents, speaker covers, windshield trim, wiper/blinker control attached to steering column, steering column cover etc...... I have alot of interior gray parts i cant list everything. 145 mph speedo light switches gauge cluster cover gray convertible top cover. This covers the top when its down. brake master cylinder and booster Used rear shocks passenger side rear brake light. drivers side fender head lights a set of Complete rear windows. A bunch of gaskets for the 5.0 motor. They are not labeled so im not exactly sure what they are for.
