Vehicle Detail

I am listing my 1962 Mercury Car Hauler, I have been building this project off and on for the last 4 years and am just to busy to finish. The cab is a 1962 Mercury M750 that was a fire truck with 24,000 miles, The frame and running gear is from 1991 International 4600 series that includes a 7.3 diesel motor, Allison automatic transmission, air brakes, and air ride on the rear. The bed is a custom bed that has been completely redone. This project needs a lot of work to finish but a lot of the really hard work has been completed. Some details- 7.3 Motor ran when I purchased it -- not running now due to wiring and fuel lines need installed. Includes rebuilt injector pump and gasket kit-Allison Automatic transmission worked fine -I have cab from the 1991 International that is included in the auction for the air system and wiring. Running boards and steering wheel from 62 Merc are also included, Bed details , the bed is a custom-built body to fit the International frame, I modified the front with rounded corners and edges to look period correct, The entire bed, tool boxes and underside was sandblasted and coated with a Dupont Urethane primer, The final finish is Imron and looks great, The decking on the bed need finished ( I was going to coat it with Dura-Bedliner) There is also a deck plate not on the truck for the wedge portion -- There are no ramps, The body of the Mercury truck is in excellent shape, I cut the front end to flip forward for the look and for the easy access to the motor, all the glass is in good shape and the floor and cab corners are also in excellent shape, There is some typical rust in the core support area that is easily repaired, I have also had the local International garage change out the rear end from 4.44's to 3.43's to get the highway speeds where they should be. If you are looking to have one really cool classic car hauler and you have the skill and time to finish this project this is the truck for you You will need a lowboy to transport this truck, I can assist in loading but will not arrange for transportation, you are responsible for a transportation arrangements I have PA titles for both trucks Question I have been asked , see below since the interest seems to be in the bed I will have more pictures to post tomorrow I added a few today OAL bed length is just shy of 22ft Width is 102” Has provisions for a winch Beavertail deck is hinged and has a hydraulic piston that allows the deck to be all on level if desired ( comes with truck ) From front of bed to center of wheel is 158” Frame width is 34” I think , same as a international 4600 series truck pretty standard will confrim this Bed edges have some surface rust showing but nothing severe , just from sitting on the grass , my fault Allison 5 speed auto not sure of the model number but I can provide the VIN # of the truck it came out of if you want 22.5 tires and they are in rolling condition but I would not use them on the road ( 1991 International truck frame and running gear If you have any questions or want more photos please email or call 724-322-6636
