If you’ve been looking for a late model Eurovan Weekender in great shape with low miles and some excellent upgrades- this is it. Retirement, a fixed income and a bad back require that I sell my beloved van. I am the second owner of this wonderful vehicle which will take its new owner(s) on adventures for many years in the future. I bought it from a dealership in CA, (with about 57,000 miles on it), where it was a trade-in (in excellent condition) by its one original owner in Santa Cruz. I kept it in my garage and used it only as a vacation vehicle. The garage was in S. Texas= no rust. To cut down on interior road noise, (I am an audiophile), I had the two front doors, sliding side door and front cabin area floor (under the carpet) lined with Dynamat type sound proofing. The sound proofing gives this Eurovan a much quieter ride than stock. The auxiliary battery under the driver’s seat was replaced with an Optima battery. It has a good Bluetooth sound system (Sony head unit MEX-BT5000) with aftermarket component speakers (dash-tweeter/door-woofer+small (stock) rears). I left all internal audio wiring in case you want to add an amp and/or subwoofer. For extra security, an engine cutoff key is mounted under the dash. Pull it out and the engine cannot be started. The vehicle was in 2 accidents. The first was a bumper scrape, the second more extensive. Repairs for both were done by a high quality body shop which replaced damaged parts and did an excellent, undetectable job (check the pictures). Window tint added on all side & rear windows. Includes the original curtains (which I found unnecessary due to the dark tinted windows.) Always well maintained, the Eurovan has several new parts including the a/c compressor. Just inspected (TX), serviced and given a clean bill of health from Hewlett VW near Austin which installed a new (engine compartment) battery. Tires are in great condition with lots of tread left. Just had a complete detailing, inside & out, including paint touch up. The 2002 Eurovan has lots of power, drives like a car and is a pleasure on the highway. Since you are seated higher than most cars and with a panoramic view in front, the Eurovan is great for sightseeing, camping and cruising. The battery powered, under-seat cooler was missing when I bought the vehicle. If the winning bidder needs to fly into Austin, I’ll pick you up at the airport.
