Vehicle Detail

A fabulous example of G.M.s Harley Earl's design is nicely incorporated into this 1955 Buick Super. Representative of the genre of 1955 in which is was designed and built it incorporates aircraft inspired features such as the dashboard controls, fender venti-ports, sweepspear moldings, front bumper "Dagmars" (you should look that up) mild rear fin treatment and much more. Powered by a 322 cubic inch "Nailhead" V-8 with a four barrel carburator and Dynaflow transmission, it has more than enough power, and cruises very nicely I additionally have a Offenhauser Tri power manifold that goes with the car. Additionally equipped with power steering and brakes. A nice to have. I purchased this car from a gentlemen's collection to which this particular car had been in dry closed storage since 1983 and had not been driven. Its interior is pretty much original with a lovely dashboard, nice headliner and upholstery. Refinished in some areas at some point in its life, the paint is lacquer and shows very well with the exception of some flaking curiously from predominatently the left side below the sweepspear molding. Otherwise this is a absolutely rust free car with no apparent previous body work. To bring it back nicely, it should have some areas touched up and refinished, otherwise the car is very presentable. Stainless is very nice and the chrome has som pitting and can probably be rated at 7 out of 10, but shows well. Mechanically, I have replaced all the fluids, differential, oil and filter etc, serviced the Dynaflow transmission, repacked the wheel bearings, replaced the cap rotor, points and plugs, replaced the fuel, and filters, muffler, installed a electric fuel pump, flushed the cooling system and installed new antifreeze, new hoses and belts. and much much more. The car runs fablulous with no unusual noises, smoke or issues. Everything operates as designed, including the clock and radio. The fuel gauge in intermittant which I suspect is a sending unit issue. This is a great, original car, to which we have the owners manual, and notorized affadavit from the previous owner regarding its storage and mileage, attesting to its history. Coincidentally, I recently spoke to a older gentlemen who tried to purchase the car twenty years ago from its owner, who stated to me the mileage was approximately the same then, as it is now. This is my personal vehicle, registered to me, and personally serviced by me, although I do sell Classic cars as a dealer for disclosure purposes. Finally, a great original and uncorrupted car to collect and drive, as well as a wonderful appreciating in value investment. This is not a "Trailer Queen", and for all intents and purposes should be kept as original as possible to maintain its value and charm. The Buick will be sold as is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Personal inspection encouraged prior to purchase and/or end of auction. Please feel free to contact me for any questions, and serious inquiries and bidders appreciated. Thanks for the interest, and enjoy the pictures.
