Vehicle Detail

1960 Austin Mini Mk1; bought years ago and had some work done but I have too many other projects now to finish so this one must go. Originally was an 850cc car. When bought from Georgia owner it was running/driving with 1275 Austin America engine and original 850 magic wand transmission (22G846?). Car is metallic blue with a silver roof. Have obtained a 22G1128 4spd remote change tranny I was going to use and this comes with the car (and rebuilt pot joints). Good points include a full set of Cosmic wheels, a brand new front nose panel not yet mounted (MiniMania) and all new floors welded in and ready for paint. Glass is reasonably good, front seats are decent and there is a new rear bumper. 1275 motor could use rings but is otherwise fine. The head (12G1316) is newly machined with a 3-angle valve job, decked .020, new guides and shimmed springs - ready for installation. This is a rubber cone suspension car. Things needed will include tires, brakes, body work, paint and of course full reassembly. There is some bondo in the existing panels but I can't say how much as I didn't paint this car last time. The fender seams have some rust I have attempted to fix but they will need new seam covers prior to paint. There is also a 3-4" dent in the roof at the front from where a tree branch fell on it. Odometer shows 17k, I assume that's rolled over at least once. This car is definitely a project, but not a basket case. And early Mk1 minis of any flavor are not easy to find. You could go a number of different ways with the restoration and have a lot of fun doing it. Street machine, Cooper S clone, SCCA autocross, etc. All parts are readily available, I just don't have time to do it anymore. Sold with a bill of sale, title not required in Georgia with cars this old. $300 deposit due via Paypal within 48 hrs of auction close. Balance due IN CASH at time of pickup. No checks or wire transfers of any kind! Car will need to be picked up near downtown Atlanta (Georgia Tech area) and trailered home. I can help load. Parts included (used unless otherwise stated): AA 1275 engine with rebuilt head and finned alloy valve cover; and unknown spare head 850 3 synchro original tranny Later 22G1128 4 synchro tranny with pot joints Pot joint (splined) drive axles with hubs Remote shift assembly, and two remote housings and trans mounts HS2 Carbs and 2 intakes Stock flywheel, fan, fan shroud, water pump, distributor, lucas coil, voltage regulator, miscellaneous brake parts, radiator, hoses Original nose panel (trashed) and new nose panel Original brake master cylinder, exhaust manifold, original magic wand shifter, original steering wheel Chrome headlight trim, badging, VIN tag, carpet/rubber mats, door seals, sun visors, gas tank, and two front seats Miscellaneous gaskets and small parts
