Lauderdale Airport, and 12 minutes to West Palm. The zip code is 33414. Wellington is an upscale world-recognized equestrian community near Palm Beach, FL.Free courtesy airport pickup from West Palm Beach International (PBI), Ft. Lauderdale International (FLL) and Miami International Airport (MIA) for those who wish to fly in and drive home (after getting brakes worked on, replacing belts as a safety measure, etc.). Also, courtesy car transport coordination is available to anywhere in the world through a preferred discounted shipping agent. Email thru eBay me for transport quote instructions...you'd be surprised how inexpensive it is to move a car across the country or world when you use the right channels who are working on repeat businessIf you contact me before the auction end about transport, I may offer to contribute to your transport costs as just a sign of good faith and well wishes...I want the car to go to someone who will appreciate it even if it's going far away.I will contribute $50 toward an official Certificate of Authenticity via Porsche Cars of North America, if you choose to order one (CoA's are very nice...they arrive in a presentation folder and have a raised seal). I believe they currently cost about $110, depending on the exchange rate...so your effective cost will be much less after my contribution. They show you original information about the Porsche: Port of Importation, Colors, Engine Number, etc. I am willing to entertain/receive outright offers for purchase before auction ends if that is more your style vs. bidding -- send me an offer through the eBay messaging system. I do not have a specific Buy-It-Now price in mind, but when I hear an adequate offer I may accept it, or I will simply wait for the auction to run its courseGetting to know me, your seller: I let you know all of the following not to somehow impress you (not that it necessarily would), but rather only to convey that I have a reputation to uphold. I believe that is important information for a buyer to know. I am helping my older with the sale of this Porsche. I am in my late-30s. He is in his mid-40s. I am a serious fellow and there is nothing being intentionally hidden about this Porsche, as so many people do in ads, descriptions and auctions. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 12 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about the car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I have gone out of my way by shooting more than one thousand (1,200) photos not just of every imaginable angle, but also in multiple lighting conditions, even multiple cameras, and I did a number of videos -- by doing this you don't have to rely on a seller's "interpretation" of characteristics of the car, but instead you can draw your own conclusions from what you see. My goal is that if you use everything I provide to you, you get a far more thorough demonstration of the car than if you came to see a car in person. I have also gone out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get specific positive feedback comments; I don't take it lightly, and it means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the Porsche without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and video as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. eBay strongly recommends the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and letting the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. That said, I still give you my impression of the Porsche and some casual observations of its characteristics and features, however, again, these are not to be considered definitive or absolute. Rather, you have photographs and videos at your disposal to draw your own conclusions. This 911 hasn't been examined with a professional eye which, in fact, like any car, should be done for safety checks before you drive it on the street and rely on it. I have been registered on eBay 12 years and have 100% positive feedback. If your impression of a picture/video or conclusion drawn from what you see differs from what I've written or said, then your opinion should govern your opinion and not what I've written or said. If you have any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, which eBay indicates is always the preferred method of communication. I will answer promptly. My family has asked my brother to make garage space for them by selling this garage queen...I sold some other Porsches from my own collection in anticipation of this family need and now it is his turn and thus this car is on the auction block. In collaboration with my brother and my family we collectively made the decision also to sell this exceptionally beautiful 911. This original and particularly nice and rare deep metallic rosewood color Porsche makes this the pinnacle of vintage Porsche auctions, especially when you consider the supplemental items you are receiving with it from a large amount of original Porsche dealer brochures and memorabilia, to documentation, to the high quality radio controlled car that comes as a bonus, and German made scale model, larger scale model in presentation case, and on, and on. We wish the new owner of this stunning 31+ year old car unlimited and unending happiness with his or her new acquisition, and hope it goes to someone who appreciates it. The username ClergyFanClassics is a testament to the religiosity of the sellers...we are people who adhere unequivocally to the biblical Golden Rule, which means decisively, conclusively and without excuse or exeption, "Do Unto Others As You'd Have Them Do Unto You." Or, simply treat people as you would like to be treated yourself. This mantra has served us well for generations and we continue that tradition with you in this auction. This central theme of the Golden Rule manifests with the volume of information that's available to you about the car and the care with which it is presented. AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person to be transacted at a bank during banking hours or bank wire transfer only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) If you insist on using a check, the check may only be drawn from a bank with a South Florida branch and it will be made out to your name where you will then convert it into cash in front of one of us or our representative before paying. If you don't do this you'll have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the check to fully clear and you will incur unavoidable storage charges. If you pay by cash in-person, we will meet you in a local branch to accept the cash and it will be deposited immediately and obviously the bank teller will check each currency note for legitimacy. Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $350/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). The goal with this rule is not to collect storage charges from you -- in fact it's the opposite: to encourage someone to pick up their car within a couple weeks which is a more than reasonable amount of time by most measures. If you want to avoid any of these storage fees but can't pick up the car for an extended period, even for months, I can set you up with a public storage unit under your name, put the car in there and FedEx you the keys, title, etc., as long as you have paid in advance. You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. I do not offer any kind of a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of personal philosophy -- this Porsche is As Is with no warranty. You get the Porsche as pictured, captured in the video, and described, a clean a clear title, anything mounted on the car as pictured (such as license plates) or inside the car (such as jack, radio, etc.), all the extras mentioned as included anywhere in the auction such as the RC car, books, memorabilia, documentation, scale models, etc., and multiple keys (including original Porsche brand key). no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve I will post multiple demonstration movies and a photo albums below this text, but before I give an introduction to those movies and albums directly showing this 1981 911SC on which you are bidding, I want to show you another video. There is a fabulous video that Porsche AG has created called "The Salute" which has a 911SC in it of the era of this car on which you are bidding. It is great to see where your future 911SC fits into the 50 year history of 911's -- the longest continuously running sports car in the history of humankind... Please turn your computer speakers up, click the button on the bottom right of the movie once it starts to play to make it full screen, and enjoy this following video which is less than a minute and a half long: On Mar-29-12 at 22:19:18 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movie is a great demonstration of the actual ’81 rosewood red 911SC Targa you are bidding on and you should watch it. The movie consists of a 360-degree walkaround, door/bonnet/engine cover demo, narration, and cold start. The video is about 9-minutes long. Once the video starts to play, feel free to click the button at the bottom-right corner of the embedded video window to watch it full-screen and then click your Esc (escape) key on the top-left of your keyboard to return to the eBay listing for the 911. Here is the movie: On Mar-29-12 at 22:25:49 PDT, seller added the following information: The following slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of the 230 available pictures in the album. These are all indoor shots. In a subsequent album below this one there will be 1,000+ additional pictures which are all outdoor photos. For the 230 shot album immediately below this text, to view the remainder of them beyond the first 100, and to be able to zoom in, etc., on the bottom right of the slideshow window right-click your mouse near where it says "View all" and then select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab: On Mar-30-12 at 06:57:19 PDT, seller added the following information: The following slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of the more than 1,050+ available pictures in the album. These are all outdoor shots in bright sunshine. To view the remainder of them beyond the first 100, and to be able to zoom in, etc., on the bottom right of the slideshow window right-click your mouse near where it says "View all" and then select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab: On Mar-31-12 at 10:09:10 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movie is a road demonstration of the ’81 rosewood red 911SC Targa on which you are bidding. It is a continuation of the movie above mere minutes after the cold start in the garage. It shows how beautifully it drives, and smoothly it shifts through every gear, how great the suspension, brakes and steering are. If you can imagine shifting, steering, braking, operating the clutch, and shooting a video with just two hands, it's a lot to keep track of everything simultaneously so some of the camera angles aren't ideal for moments here and there and there are a few pauses where I'm idling, so thank you for your patience. It is about 24 minutes long. Once the video starts to play, feel free to click the button at the bottom-right corner of the embedded video window to watch it full-screen and then click your Esc (escape) key on the top-left of your keyboard to return to the eBay listing for the 911. Here is the movie: On Mar-31-12 at 10:26:46 PDT, seller added the following information: The following slideshow automatically displays 24 or so pictures in the album showing some of the extras included with the auction. To be able to zoom in to individual photographs in the album, you can right-click your mouse near the bottom right of the slideshow window where it says "View all" and then select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." That will keep this auction page open while you are viewing the pictures in a separate web browser window or tab: On Apr-01-12 at 08:49:38 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movie is a more succinct demonstration (about 1.5 minutes long) of the car's shifting, and specifically shifting during faster acceleration once it's warmed up. You can really get a sense of how smoothly it shifts in every gear. I am not an aggressive or hard-shifting driver, and this demonstration is certainly not pushing the car to its fastest acceleration or to its limits by any stretch of the imagination but this is on the faster side of my specific comfort zone, so to speak, for demo purposes. You also get a warm start example, which is instant and nice to see. Once the video starts to play, feel free to click the button at the bottom-right corner of the embedded video window to watch it full-screen and then click your Esc (escape) key on the top-left of your keyboard to return to the eBay listing for the 911. Here is the movie: On Apr-01-12 at 14:30:01 PDT, seller added the following information: The following movie is a close-up of the engine and exhaust running while completely warmed up. The video is 2 minutes long: On Apr-02-12 at 02:13:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The following will be the final movie I will provide you. It is 9 minutes long. In the video I walk through the documentation, books, title and supplemental and bonus items that you get along with car. There is so much extra included that I didn't devote much time of the limited time of the movie talking about certain items, nor any time to certain other extras, like the Porsche brand fitted car cover. One bonus I spent just a fraction of the time it deserved was the gas-powered radio controlled four wheel drive truck, which I know almost nothing about because it's not my hobby and this was given to me as a gift. The fellow who gave it to me was leaving the country and he had himself gotten it as a gift and I think he never got the whole story about it so I in turn never got the whole story, but I believe it is a Traxxas brand 4x4 Hummer. It's a large device, about 2 feet long and perhaps a foot and a half wide. It looks well used but appears fully functional with everything you'd need to enjoy it, except AA batteries for the transmitter control and the receiver on the truck and some RC fuel. It has a built-in starter motor on the gas engine and built in glow plug igniter on the engine. It has an external battery pack to power the starter motor and the glow plug and that has charge in it and I connected it and ran the starter motor on the gas engine and spins the engine great. I don't have RC fuel otherwise I would have started it the truck up and done a video for you. The truck has big knobby tires and a functioning full travel suspension, big exhaust pipe and large intake. I'm sure either you or someone you know will enjoy the truck. That is merely a cool bonus, and the rest of the bonus items and books are specifically Porsche-related. The fact that there are multiple original Porsche brochures that come with this car that the dealer handed to the original owners of these cars back in 1980-1981 when the car was new make it really cool....it makes this car just that much more completely enjoyable. The scale targa models that are included are in display cases (one by "Minichamps" and the other is a German brand scale model...both with functioning body panels like doors, bonnet, etc.). Those models are EXTREMELY expensive more importantly they are very difficult to find...try to find one that matches your future SC Targa right now on eBay if you want, and you'll see. They are encased and in presentation cases already and would look great in an office, on a shelf in a glass case, or on a bureau to remind you of your beautiful car. I haven't given you a complete list in text of what's included with the auction so do watch the video to get a sense of some of at least some it -- there are autographed Porsche racecar driver framable pictures, large Porsche posters that can be put in frames, multiple expensive Porsche performance and history hard cover books (some hundreds of glossy pages long), Excellence magazines stacks, the factory workshop manuals, and the list goes on etc. It's a good idea to watch the movie to get a better sense of some of what's included... I realize there's a lot to watch and go through with this auction and I appreciate your patience...
