Vehicle Detail

This is a nice example of a vintage 1967 MGB. It has had a lot of the body work done to make it nearly ready for paint but all the smaller prep.work is now needed. It could be used now for everyday transportation while fixing it up. I just within the last couple of months put in a new windshield with all new rubber. While the windshield frame was off I repainted the dash and installed new vynal on the top surface of the dash as well as new dash pad on the leading edge. There are many other parts that come with it or that have already been installed. Nearly brand new Goodyear tires. The engine runs very strong but once in a while when you take off it will put out a small momentary puff of smoke but does not smoke during normal driving. The transmission shifts and works good except for grinding while shifting to second if you don't ease it in, but it can be driving all around without any grinding once you get use to how to properly shift it. Brakes work good and clutch seems strong. Prior to 1968 they did not have fully syncromesh transmissions and this car does not have the overdrive. All lights and wipers work except the blinkers don't turn off by themselves. Speedometer works but the tachometer doesn't but that is probably just a loose wire. I have no hard top and the soft top has no value but they are only $199 on Ebay. For shipping I'm sure I can get the old top on well enough to keep water out. The door panels and carpet are decent but the seat covers are in need of replacing. The seats work fine for driving but not for show. Chrome is not rusted or pitted but has some flaws. The floor on the passenger side had some surface rust only and I ground it down treated it with Loc-Tite rust killer and painted it. The drivers side floor has some rust through but only down the center area and could be cut out and patched easily. The undercarriage seems pretty good but has been sprayed with undercoating from many years back. This car is a very desirable model year and is worth putting some time and money into it. The 1962-1967 years are the most collectable and command the highest prices at time of sale but any enthusiast already knows all that stuff. I just haven't the now how or money to give this car what it should have and feel it's time to move on to something better suited for me. I just drove it again today through out the neighborhood and sure got the looks even with primer all over it. People sure do like these cars. I've owned Mercedes SL's, BMW's, Jaguar XJ6's, XJS and a Porsche 914 and didn't get as many looks with any of those cars as I do with this one. The title is clear, clean and in my name and the vehicle is currently registered in Oregon with plates good until November of 2013. I can't possibly think of everything to tell so please contact me with any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability and post the answers for all to see. Mileage exceeds the mechanical display. It reads 01373 but I'm sure it needs a 1 at the front of that if not a 2. I will fully cooperate with the buyer and their shipper to make this a smooth sale but all scheduling and costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Once it is paid for I will immediately send off the title to you and the car can be stored for up to 3 weeks if needed to get a shipper here. Any additional time will need to be cleared with me. Thanks, Terry I have set a low reserve in hopes of making a sale but it will also be advertised locally starting 3/31/2012 On Mar-26-12 at 21:50:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I have already had two people questioning the damage to the front grill area of the car. So I find it necessary to say that there is some cosmetic damage to the grill but far less than it appears in the photo. It is absolutely limited to the grill and does not extend into any of the body panels or hood. I know the photo looks like the front is pushed back but it is bad lighting and shadows coming in from the right. I hope to get a photo posted very soon showing the truth about this. On Mar-27-12 at 09:00:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I had forgotten to mention that the MG also comes with a spare transmission. It is complete and appears to be in good shape but it's anyone's guess as to the internal condition. On Mar-27-12 at 09:41:21 PDT, seller added the following information: The last photo in the series shows the MG as I bought it before any work was started. The hard top is not included, it was previously sold.
